In recent years, important measures have been carried out to develop culture and art in the autonomous republic. We can point out the establishment of new musical collectives. Numerous folklore collectives, Chamber and Variety orchestras of Nakhchivan State   Philharmony,   Nakhchivan State Children’s Philharmony, Ashugs Union and other creative collectives are examples of this.

The decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of  Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Mr. Vasif Talibov “On the Establishment of the Variety Orchestra of Nakhchivan State Philharmony” dated January 10, 2012 is of great importance for the development and promotion of our musical culture. The Nakhchivan State Philharmony Variety Orchestra has been organized in a short time based on creative potential of talented youth in the autonomous republic and has gained popularity with its successful concerts. Necessary conditions have been created for the activity of this musical collective, and orchestra musicians and soloists have been provided with clothing sets and musical instruments. As a result, the Nakhchivan State Philharmony Variety Orchestra is actively involved in the cultural life of the autonomous republic, giving concerts in front of the public, focusing on the richness of the repertoire.

The collective of the Variety Orchestra, which also participates in many state and holiday events, has been feeling more and more state care over time. The involvement of creative young people in the collective, repertoire renewal and raising the level of performance is one of the main issues facing the collective. Art director and conductor of the Variety Orchestra is Nizami Mammadov, the Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan who performs works of foreign composers professionally along with Azerbaijani composers. The folk songs are also performed by the orchestra skillfully. This year, the orchestra performed at several high-level events with a rich repertoire of music from both Azerbaijan and world composers, as well as folk songs. As a result, the Variety Orchestra is recognized by the public as a distinguished collective with its professional style and repertoire in the cultural life of the autonomous republic.

On October 31, Variety Orchestra of Nakhchivan State Philharmony gave a concert in Nakhchivan. Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tural Najafov, Honored Artists of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Azer Jafarli, Yashar Gurbanov, Garibe Hasanova, soloists Ilkin Abdullayev and Rahim Asgerzadeh performed songs of Azerbaijani and foreign composers. At the concert, which the melodies and songs of foreign composers were performed, S.Rustamov’s “Hardasan?” (Where are you?), V. Adigozalov’s “Where is the girl?”, T.Guliyev’s “Gaytaghi”, E.Sabitoglu’s “My past days”, E.Ibrahimova’s “Passing through the garden” , Ramiz Myrlisli’s “With a glance view”, E. Kurtis’s “Tell the girls” songs were applauded.
