Nizami Rahimov, the director of the museum, Honored Culture Worker of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, opened the event at the Nakhchivan State History Museum and talked about Mirbaghir Mirhaydarzada's activities in the direction of the establishment and development of the museum.
Gumral Mamiyeva, chief advisor on cultural heritage and museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Alamzar Ibrahimova, the director of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzada, Narmina Allahverdiyeva gave speeches at the event.
It was noted that Mirbaghir Mirhaydar Mirhaydarzada who lived at the end of XIX and at the begining of XX centuries had devoted almost 15 years of his significant life to museum construction in Nakhchivan.
After the establishment of The Sovet power in Azerbaijan in 1920, Mirbaghir Mirhaydarzada's activity was mainly related to the history of Nakhchivan, the study of ancient monuments and place names in this area, the collection and study of archeological materials and folklore samples.
It was noted that Nakhchivan History-Etnography Museum was established by the decision of the Society for Studying and Promoting Azerbaijan in Baku in 1923 and the Council of People's Comissars in Nakhchivan in October, 1924. The branch of Society for Studying and Promoting Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan was created in May 1925. At the formation meeting Mirbaghir Mirhaydarzada was elected as scientific secretary of this society and he had worked in this position until mid-1928. The analyses of reports of meetings held in 1925-1928 show that the members of society, especially its scientific secretary Mirbaghir Mirhaydarzada actively participated in museum construction in Nakhchivan.
It was mentioned that as it is evident from the facts, Society for Studying and Promoting Azerbaijan and its scientific secretary Mirbaghir Mirhaydarzada have played an indispensable role in the studying of Nakhchivan's history since the mid-20s of the last century and the formation and development of Nakhchivan History-Etnography Museum (now Nakhchivan State History Museum).
The grandchildren of Mirbaghir Mirhaydarzada shared their memories about him at the meeting.
Then, the exhibition dedicated to Mirbaghir Mirhaydarzada, one of the founders of the Nakhchivan State History Museum, was held.
