The open lesson on “The great leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan army” was held for the students of High Military School named after Heydar Aliyev in Museum of Heydar Aliyev in Nakhchivan.

In this event Ramil Orujaliyev, the director of museum, stated that the formation of Azerbaijani army is related to the name of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

It was mentioned that in the period of 1990-1993 when the great leader Heydar Aliyev lived and worked in Nakhchivan, one of his greatest services before our people is not only to ensure the security of the autonomous republic, but also to form the first national army here. In those years important decisions were adopted in the direction of army building. One of the first national army groups in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic – detached strengthened brigade No 705 was established on September 15, 1992.

The Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic passed Resolution “On the defend of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the protection of its borders” on September 19, 1992. 

It was stated that today great success on army building has been achieved in our country. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces have become the most powerful army in the South Caucasus. 

The military parade held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the first national military unit demonstrated the power of the Detached Combined Arms Army once again which ensured the security of the ancient land. 

In the open lesson students watched the film “Heydar Aliyev phenomenon in the war history”.
