The concert of the pupils of children's music, art and crafts subordinated to the Nakhchivan City Culture and Tourism Department under the motto "Nakhchivan - The Capital of Islamic Culture - 2018" was held in Babek Region Culture House.
At first, Tarana Jafarova, the Head of the Nakhchivan City Culture and Tourism Department said that the concert was held according to the department's actions plan.
It was noted that Nakhchivan city is the capital of Islamic culture for 2018. On this occasion, the Culture and Tourism Department will hold a number of events.
It was stressed that the purpose of the concert was to promote Azerbaijani and world music in music schools.
Tarana Jafarova spoke about the children's musical schools in our autonomous republic and noted that the measures taken in the direction of development of our music have been continuous. In recent years, the buildings have been built or reconstructed for 23 children's music schools. Today there are 26 children's music, arts and crafts schools in the autonomous republic. Comprehensive conditions for exemplary organization of music education have been created in these schools. There are 6 children's music schools in Nakhchivan. For these schools, new buildings have been built in recent years and all conditions for teaching music have been created. Students of Children's Music and Art School of Nakhchivan City, Children's Music and Crafts School named after Ertoghrol Javid, Children's Music School No.3 and other musical schools are actively participating in competitions and concerts held in the Autonomous Republic. Various ensembles, orchestras and other musical collectives were created in these schools as well. Talented students are given care and attention by teachers.
In the second part of the event, musical performances were presented to the participants by the pupils of children musical schools in Nakhchivan city. The pupils performed works of outstanding Azerbaijani composers Fikret Amirov, Said Rustamov, Tofig Guliyev and others. Mugham, folk songs, dances and music were met with interest.
The concert in which musical compositions of foreign composers on violin and piano were performed ended with "Azerbaijan rhythms" of the ensemble of drum players.
