Museums are treasures of our people's material and spiritual wealth

Museums are cultural centers that demonstrate national identity, gather national and spiritual values, embody, preserve and promote truths about the past. Today, our museums have a network of rich art pearls and national resources, covering all the regions of the autonomous republic. Museum work in Nakhchivan has unique history of development. At the end of the XIX century, the great writer-playwright Jalil Mammadguluzadeh applied to the People Schools Office with a request to create a museum in Nehram village school and for the first time in Azerbaijan this museum was created in this village where material and cultural samples of the history of Nakhchivan were collected. The Museum of History and Ethnography was established in 1924 in Nakhchivan, and in 1926, the private museum created by Balabay Alibeyov, a resident of Nakhchivan, began to function as a state museum. “Nakhchivan Investigation and Thoroughly Research Society” which began functioning as a division of the society in Azerbaijan in 1925, had a role to enrich this museum.

The traditional GOYJA FESTIVAL will be held in Nakhchivan

Goyja festival will be held at the Historical-Architectural Museum Complex "Nakhchivangala" by the Ministries of Economy, Agriculture, Culture, and the executive authorities of cities and regions on May 19 and 20.

The opening of the festival will take place on May 19 at 11:00.

Various types of goyja products cultivated by landowners from Nakhchivan city, Sharur, Babak, Ordubad, Julfa and Kangarli regions will be exhibited and sold at the festival.

The Goyja Festival, which will be held at the Historical-Architectural Museum Complex "Nakhchivangala", will create a pleasant atmosphere with its variety and colorfulness.

Concert dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev

On May 10, the concert of the newly established Symphony Orchestra of Nakhchivan State Philharmonic in front of the Heydar Aliyev Museum was dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.

The first concert of the orchestra started with the overture of our great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov's "Koroglu" opera. Performance of the orchestra conducted by Elvin Aliyarov, of which choirmaster was Mahira Asgarova, Honored Teacher of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, ballet-master was Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tamerlan Bagirov, was met with applause.

After Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tural Najafov together with the chorus performed the song "Azerbaijan" by Muslim Magomayev, the singers performed "Nakhchivan taranasi" by our prominent composer Ramiz Mishli at the concert.

Opening of the exhibition dedicated to the national leader Heydar Aliyev

An exhibition of paintings dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev was launched at the Exhibition Hall named after Bahruz Kangarli of the Artists' Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov visited the exhibition on May 10.

It was reported that the exhibition featured portraits of 32 artists dedicated to the great leader, about 100 paintings, models and decorative figures in the genres of landscape, still life, mixed composition, depicting historical monuments, nature and modern development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

On May 10, the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov laid flowers at the magnificent monument to the founder and architect of the independent state of Azerbaijan, prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev in the main square of Nakhchivan and commemorated the great leader.

Heads of ministries, committees, chiefs of departments and enterprises, commanders of military units, representatives of science, educational institutions and the public, young people participating in the march "From salvation to Alinjagala", held on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the great leader, laid fresh flowers in front of the monument.

95 years have passed since the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the independent and powerful Azerbaijan state. The meaningful life of the genius leader whose period of leadership in our country remained in the history like the years of great construction, development, stability and progress, saved his people at hard times, saved Azerbaijan from the threat of destruction, ruin and eradication, was devoted to one purpose - the activity of the people and the Homeland.
