On March 5, a roundtable on the topic “Folk art is our cultural wealth” was held by the participation of the collaborators working at culture houses and clubs in Nakhchivan city, at Children’s Music school No.2 in Nakhchivan city.
The event was held by the organization of the Scientific-Methodological Center for Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Nakhchivan city Culture and Tourism Department. Opening the event, the head of Nakhchivan city Culture and Tourism Department Tarana Jafarova talked about the protection of our national values which are the sum of our national culture, the measures undertaken in the autonomous republic.
It was noted that the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated February 7, 2009, “On holding Folk days in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” was a stimulus for the implementation of measures in the direction of promoting national traditions along with the study of folklore samples in the autonomous republic.
On March 5, Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s “The little prince” work which has been included the list of “Books that are necessary to read” was discussed at Nakhchivan Music College.
The director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.S.Ordubadi, PhD on history Aytakin Gahramanova opened the event. The head of music-note department of the library Naila Asadova delivered a speech titled “Writer and professional pilot- Antoine de Saint-Exupery”. The librarian of the library Gulnisa Zeynalli gave information about “The little prince”.
It was said that “The little prince”, the most famous work of Antoine de Saint-Exupery is an allegorical story. The work was published on April 6, 1943 in New-York for the first time. The photos in the book were taken by Exupery. On June 31, 1944 Exupery flew from Sansepolcro to Corsica and it was his last flight and he never returned. During war years Antoine de Saint-Exupery published his three works: “Military pilot”, “A letter to a hostage” and “The little prince”.
The arrival of spring in Azerbaijan is a time of grace. It was during this period that the country celebrates the awakening of nature - Novruz Bayramy. Another important event is connected with the rich musical heritage of Azerbaijan. In March, the International Festival "World of Mugham" is held in Baku. Mugham is a unique art that is included in the list of masterpieces of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity of UNESCO. And of course, spring is the best time to enjoy the tastes of the national cuisine of Azerbaijan, as well as make unforgettable trips to the regions of the country, where you will see pictures of flowering gardens and mountain meadows.

7-14 - International Festival "World of Mugham"
Mugham is a genre of Azerbaijani traditional music, which is characterized by an improvisational type of performance, both solo and in ensembles.
A drawing competition titled "Sensitive feelings" was held at Julfa city children's music school under the motto "Nakhchivan - The Capital of Islamic Culture 2018" among the member of drawing circles operating before the club institutions subordinated to Julfa Region Culture and Tourism Department on March 2.
15 members of circles from 10 clubs and culture houses attended the competition. The competition was held in accordance with the Regulations and the works of the participants were evaluated by the jury.
The concert of instrumental ensemble "Ganjlik" of Nakhchivan Music College was held in Babak Region Culture House on March 2.
It should be noted that the college has achieved success in the cherishing of national musical instruments and folk songs, as well as studying classical and modern world composers and training young musicians. The graduates of Music College serve our music culture while working at cultural institutions, children's music schools in our country. In addition to its activities as an educational institution, it also performs concert programs at popular events and festivals held throughout the country. Over 40 years, various music collectives have been created at the college. The "Ganjlik" instrumental ensemble is one of these collectives. The members of the collective perform interesting concert programs consisting of the songs of Azerbaijani composers before the public. Young talents, as well as promoting our music art, also take active part in competitions. Involving new talents to the collective and focusing on the various repertoire are the key issues. At present, the collective is preparing a new repertoire for upcoming Novruz celebrations. The performances of "Ganjlik" instrumental ensemble on Nakhchivan State Television are also interesting. The art director of the ensemble is Sahil Gasimov.
At the concert, the ensemble performed a cheerful music composition. Then, the songs "Gelbimde galdi hijran" of Nariman Mammadov, "Shirin dil", "Al menden" of Emin Sabitoglu, and "Nargila" of Tofig Guliyev performed by the young singer Samir Ismayilov, accompanied by the ensemble, gave a good mood to the audience.
