On February 28, Nakhchivan Music College held a roundtable talk on "The role of the "Akhlaq-i Nasir" by Nasir al-Din Tusi, the philosopher, astronomer, statesman, in the list of "Books necessary for reading".
Aytekin Gahramanova, the director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.S.Ordubadi, PhD in History, made an opening speech at the event. Nuriyya Jafarova, the chief librarian of methodology and bibliography department of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic named after M.S.Ordubadi, gave detailed information about Nasir al-Din Tusi's life and creativity. Aytekin Gahramanova, the director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.S.Ordubadi, spoke about "Akhlaq-i Nasir" by Nasir al-Din Tusi".
On February 28, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzade held an open lesson on "History of autonomy" together with Nakhchivan city secondary school №8.
Alemzar Ibrahimova, the director of the museum, made an opening speech at the open lesson and said that 94 years have passed since the establishment of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Nakhchivan, the ancient land of Azerbaijan, is in its developing period now. The remarkable work done in political, economic, social, cultural and humanitarian spheres in Azerbaijan continues in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic too. Nakhchivan is also rapidly developing, attracting attention with the achievements in various fields, innovations in the economy, social and cultural life. Then, Semana Rustamova, the chief scientific worker of the museum, gave a speech on "History of autonomy" and stated that the Moscow and Kars treaties had great importance in the social and political life of Nakhchivan, an integral part of Azerbaijan. Five states participated in the Kars treaty, which was signed on October 13, 1921. Article 5 and inclosure 3 of the Kars Treaty, consisting of 20 articles and 3 inclosures, once again confirmed the territorial issue of Nakhchivan and defined its boundaries. The Kars Treaty, as a historical document, solved the fate of Nakhchivan.
One of the most important trade routes connecting the South Caucasus with the Middle East was once passed through Nakhchivan. Studies show that the Julfa, Gizilburun and Shahtakhti crossings in the autonomous republic were used in the VI-V millennium B.C. The famous Silk Road, which connects the East and the West in the Middle Ages, continued in this direction. Because they are located in favorable positions, these checkpoints are now being used.
These crossings were widely used in the exchange of metal and none-metalic minerals, silk and crafts products.
It is not accidental that Nakhchivan city was known as “Nagshijahan” in the sources of the middle ages. This city situated in the center of Azerbaijan was the center of international trade in different periods of the history. The archaeological materials found in the city of Nakhchivan in 2017 prove that there were important cultural centers in our ancient land in the V millennium B.C. After adopting Islam religion the importance of the city increased as a trade and cultural center, the city became the capital of Nakhchivan kingdom later Atabeylar state, after the establishment of Elkhanis, feudal states of Azerbaijan and centralized state in Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan was known as the important trade and craftsmanship center. The development of these fields caused to expand economical-cultural relations, the construction of civic buildings especially caravanserais, which ensures the comfort and safety of commercial caravans became a necessity. Caravansaries were divided into two groups: city caravansaries and transit caravansaries.
On February 27, the premiere of the performance of the Folk Theater named after Kazim Ziya prepared on the basis of the well-known educator and playwright, ethnographer Rashid bey Afandiyev's "Tbilisi visit" was held at Ordubad Region Culture House.
It should be noted that Ordubad Region Folk Theater named after Kazim Ziya was established in 1964. It was named after outstanding stage figure, People’s artist Kazim Ziya in 1972. The 25th anniversary of Ordubad Region Folk Theatre was marked at the state level in 1989. The theater was awarded the honorary title of "Honorary collective of Nakhchivan ASSR" by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. At that time, this honorary title was first given to Ordubad Folk Theater. A number of artists prepared in this folk theatre have created interesting scenes on the stage of Nakhchivan theatre afterwards and have been awarded honorary titles. “Unlucky young man”, “Leyli and Majnun”, “The cloth peddler”, “Husband and wife”, “Who is Akbar”, “Farhad and Shirin”, “Bride costing five manats”, “Fellow townsmen”, “Lost health”, “Vital fire”, “Kamancha” and other interesting performances were staged in different years in the folk theatre.
According to the 2018 work plan of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, "Fairy-tale days" continue.
On February 27, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Children's Library named after Adil Babayev held the next "Fairy-tale day" at the kindergarten No.3 in the city of Nakhchivan.
Opening the "Fairy-tale day", the head of department of children's library Mehriban Seyidova spoke about the fairy-tale world of children. She mentioned that little children love magic fairy-tales, the fairy-tales about animals. It was noted that 623 "Fairy-tale days" were held at the kindergartens of the autonomous republic in 2017. Within two months of this year 95 "Fairy-tale days" have been held.
The collaborator of the library Khadija Huseynova read the fairy-tale "How a dog and cat became enemies" for the little ones. The fairy-tale tells about truthfulness, loyalty, fidelity feelings.
