An educational event was held at the State Migration Service of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on "Historical and architectural monuments located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" with the participation of foreigners and stateless persons. Samir Abbasov, the employee of the service, opened the event organized jointly with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the autonomous republic.
Ali Rzayev, the employee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism gave detailed information on the subject at the event. It was noted that Nakhchivan was rich with ancient and medieval cultural and historical monuments - ancient settlements, cities, magnificent towers, tombstones which were the most beautiful examples of memorial architecture and unique nature monuments. The Azerbaijani Turks have created a great culture and tradition in Nakhchivan. After the adoption of the Islamic religion, Nakhchivan architects have also benefited from the Islamic architectural traditions and have further enriched our history and culture with examples of valuable Turkic-Islamic culture.
An event dedicated to the 149th anniversary of the great writer was held in Jalil Mammadguluzade's house-museum in Nakhchivan on February 22.
Kamala Tahirova, the acting director of the museum, made an opening speech at the event, and said that he was a playwright, writer-publicist, and the founder of the "Molla Nasreddin" school. The eternal rich heritage of him is an example of independence, Azerbaijanism, nationalism and citizenship for yesterday, today, and future generations.
It was noted that Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, paid great attention to the heritage of Jalil Mammadguluzade, research and publication of his works. Thanks to the national leader, Jalil Mammadguluzade's works have been published massively, and great works have been done to perpetuate his memory.
Then, Saadat Gasimova, the guide of the museum, spoke in detail on "Jalil Mammadguluzade and the Soviet Period" and told about the great writer's activities in this period. It was noted that during that period he faced some difficulties. The great writer came under groundless attacks in the Soviet era. Since 1926, "Molla Nasreddin" magazine had published without his editor signature. During the Soviet era, the 25th anniversary of the publication of the "Molla Nasreddin" magazine was not celebrated.
On February 22, in accordance with the “Action Plan for the 2017-2018 academic year related to the effective organization of education and culture and tourism facilities” of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the circle members of Tourist-Ethnography Center visited Nakhchivan Tourism Information Center.
The purpose of this excursion is to organize the effective leisure time of children, to make them love their homeland, to instill in young people the sense of citizenship, to acquaint them with historical monuments reflecting our history, to inform about the exhibits reflecting our history, to know our history and to transfer it to future generations.
Sona Ismayilova, the senior consultant of the Center, informed the members about the establishment of the center and its activity. It was noted that the center has been operating since 2012 in the historical monument Zaviya-Madrasa of the XVII-XVIII centuries.
The inhabitants of Arafsa village of Julfa region Nail Aliyev, Agil Galandarov, the inhabitant of Lakatagh village Zakir Huseynov, the inhabitant of Arazin village Mahmud Zeynalov, the inhabitant of Kirna village Sona Asgarova presented 75 exhibits consisting of carpets, weaving product, copper and earthenware items, pitchers, spinning wheel, silk kerchiefs, dibak (big pestle made of stone or wood), farming tools used in mill and thrashing-floor, lamps, iron helmets and other examples reflecting our ancient history and culture to Julfa Region History-Ethnography museum.
Speaking at the event the minister of culture and tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova mentioned that 29 museums and a museum-type facility are operating under the minister. These museums preserve nearly 140 thousand exhibits material-cultural samples reflecting the history, life style, traditions of our people. The state care shown to our museums in recent years should be especially emphasized. Last year, 445,747 people visited the museums of the autonomous republic, including local residents and guests from other regions of Azerbaijan, as well as more than 110,000 foreigners.
An open lesson was held at the Heydar Aliyev Museum in Nakhchivan with the participation of cadets of the Heydar Aliyev Military School.
At the lesson Ramil Orujaliyev, the director of the museum, spoke about "National Leader Heydar Aliyev and army building in Azerbaijan". He said that the formation of Azerbaijan as an independent state, the establishment of the Azerbaijani Army, which is the guarantee of this state, is connected with the name of national leader Heydar Aliyev. One of the most significant services of the great leader in Nakhchivan during 1990-1993 is to ensure security of the autonomous republic, as well as establish the first national Azerbaijan's army forces here. After the national leader was elected the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, important decisions were taken in the direction of army building, and the State Defense Committee was set up in Nakhchivan. On September 15, 1992, the enhanced motorized brigade No.705 was established in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as a part of the first national army unit. On September 19, 1992, the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic adopted a resolution "On the protection of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and its borders".
