From the first day of the competition for the selection of the country's "Youth Capital", which began on January 25, our native city Nakhchivan was the leader and maintained its leadership.

Every city, every region, every inch of Azerbaijan is native and dear for us. This competition created a pleasant rivalry among our cities and encouraged the youth to be more active. But there is an important task that the real candidate for the competition was Nakhchivan among the cities participated in the competition. Because, more than 30 percent of the population of the Autonomous Republic is young.

The youth is being brought up in the spirit of loyalty to our national values in the autonomous republic, formed as the initiator of new ideas and the leading force in public administration, get great achievements in the field of sports, science, culture, art and so on. Most importantly, autonomous republic youths constantly rear the traditions of statehood and growing up in the spirit of devotion to the national leader Heydar Aliyev's political line.

Now our ancient land Nakhchivan is the Youth Capital of the country. This success is each of us. The selection of Nakhchivan as the Youth Capital suggests us to be more responsible, to work hard for the bright future of our ancient land.

In fact, it was expected. Because, the activeness of the Nakhchivan youth in the voting starting on January 25 and in social networks drew the attention. It is quite natural. Because Nakhchivan is always young, despite of its 5 thousand old history, and this youthful freshness manifests itself in all its inhabitants. Because the feelings of building, creating, renewing and protecting the land are stronger and more sincere in those who are in the minds of youth.

Let us admit that not only young people took part in the voting but also the people of all ages. It showed the mind, outlook, and naturally, the youngness of their soul. We call it unity as well. The national leader Heydar Aliyev showed us the sample of uniting in proper level for Nakhchivan in 1990. The continuation of this tradition shows itself in the condition created for the youth, the care and attention towards them.

This vote is an example of organizing young people and uniting as a single force around the statehood ideas.

They are the manifestation of successful youth policy, the correct, far-reaching steps taken in the education of patriotic feelings in Nakhchivan. The autonomous republic youth praise their city- developing, compared with the European cities, native, clean, safe Nakhchivan as a youth having wide outlook. For all this Nakhchivan is the "Youth Capital".

To be honest, I repeat the phrase "Nakhchivan, which is becoming more and more beautiful day by day," as " Nakhchivan, which is growing younger day by day".

I believe that inner beliefs have the potential to bring good results. From this point of view, to become younger our city that we proud of its history and the election of the 2018 Youth Capital of Azerbaijan have made me very happy as a young scientist. The first is that the autonomous republic is the Capital of Islamic Culture this year. As the Youth Capital, this will be a stimulus for young people who act honestly, responsibly in every field of the autonomous republic. The activity of our youth in the events that will take place in 2018 will prove that this success is not accidental.

First of all, I congratulate the autonomous republic youth on this occasion. As the age of life goes away from youth, the sense of citizenship demands us to become younger in return for work done. Encourages people to be young, to write and create with enthusiasm of youth. This responsibility will be more responsible for the creative youth. After the announcement of this competition everyone was mobilized as one. We retained the leadership until the end of the competition. Regardless of their age every person from Nakhchivan was active in social networks. Fortunately, we have been voted not only from Nakhchivan, but from the different countries of the world. Our young people living and studying in European countries posted a two-minute video produced by Nakhchivan State Television on their pages and in different social groups, urged everyone to vote for Nakhchivan.

In a word we united and made Nakhchivan the winner. This victory was a double celebration for us. Because our Nakhchivan got the chance to be the second capital city in 2018. The Capital of Islamic Culture and the Youth Capital. That's why we have the right to be proud of our Nakhchivan.

I want to draw attention to an issue. It is known that the "Youth Capital" is selected for one year. During this period, the city provides active participation of youth in social, political, social, economic and cultural life, supports enhancing their intellectual and creative potential and implementing new ideas and projects. But these measures are being carried out in Nakhchivan for more than 20 years. With the attention and care of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, great support is provided to the comprehensive development of youth in the autonomous republic.
