The concert of the pupils of children's music, art and crafts subordinated to the Nakhchivan Culture and Tourism Department under the motto "Nakhchivan - The Capital of Islamic Culture - 2018" was held at the Kangarli Region Culture House.
Before the concert held at the Kangarli Region Culture House, the announcer said that the concert was held according to the department's actions plan. Nakhchivan was declared the capital of Islamic culture for 2018 at the VI Conference of Ministers of Culture of Islamic Countries held in Baku on October 14, 2009. On this occasion, the Culture and Tourism Department will hold a number of events. The purpose of the concert was to promote Azerbaijani and world music at music schools.
The announcer spoke about the children's musical schools in our autonomous republic and noted that the measures taken in the direction of development of our music have been continuous. In recent years, the buildings have been built or reconstructed for 23 children's music schools. Today there are 26 children's music, arts and crafts schools in the autonomous republic. Comprehensive conditions for exemplary organization of music education have been created in these schools. There are 6 children's music schools in Nakhchivan. For these schools, new buildings have been built in recent years and all conditions for teaching music have been created. Students of Children's Music Schools are actively participating in competitions and concerts held in the autonomous republic. Various ensembles, orchestras and other musical collectives were created in these schools as well. Talented students are given care and attention by teachers.
On January 26, a seminar titled "Ways to develop reading culture in children" was held with the participation of librarians of the Central Library of the Julfa Region Centralized Library System and the librarians of the village library branches.
Parvin Hasanov, Head of the Culture and Tourism Department of the Julfa Region, made an opening speech and said that British writer Francis Bacon said: "Books are the ships which pass through the vast sea of time".
Then it was told about the role of reading in human life. It is obvious that reading has a great impact on people's outlook, thinking, attitudes, brain development, and even the formation of emotions.
There is a saying that every book teaches something to people. Especially children are affected easily, so it makes the right choice of books more necessary. Children should select books according to their age, and parents should always supervise them. Library staff has a great deal of responsibility in this.

On January 26, the 20th anniversary of the Nakhchivan State Carpet Museum was marked, presentation of the book "Nakhchivan carpet-weaving: tradition and modernity" published jointly authored by the vice-president of ANAS, the academician Isa Habibbayli and the chairman of the Board of “Azərxalça” Open Joint-Stock Company professor Vidadi Muradov was held.
The chairman of Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS, the academician Ismayil Hajiyev opened the event and said that Nakhchivan is distinguished for its ancient history and rich culture and carpet weaving traditions that have made valuable contributions to this culture. The region's favorable climate and important trade routes have played an important role in the development of many fields of art, including carpet weaving. The head of Department for Humanitarian Policy Issues and Public Organizations of the Supreme Majlis Office Rahman Mammadov delivered a speech and mentioned that important measures have been carried out in the field of preserving, studying and promoting the material and cultural samples, the museum network has been expanded in the autonomous republic. One of the museums created during the years of independence is the Nakhchivan State Carpet Museum. Thanks to the attention and care of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Nakhchivan State Carpet Museum, established in 1998, was provided with a new building in 2010. In accordance with the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated February 4, 2015 “On the regulation of the activities of museums in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic”, the Nakhchivan State Carpet Museum is considered an autonomous republican importance museum, and the salaries of museum workers have been increased.
On January 25, the reporting concert under the motto “Nakhchivan the Capital of Islamic Culture- 2018” of the children’s music schools operating under the Babek Region Culture and Tourism Department was held.
In the beginning of the concert the head of Babek Region Culture and Tourism Department Jeyhun Farajov delivered a speech and mentioned that the development way of culture and art defined by the national leader Heydar Aliyev is continued successfully. New cultural institutions including children’s music schools are constructed and put into operation. It was noted that these issues are also in the focus of attention in Babek region as in all regions of the autonomous republic.
It was emphasized that at present, children’s music, art and artistic craftsmanship schools provided with all necessary conditions are operating in the autonomous republic. Various measures have been carried out in order to improve the quality of education in children’s music, art and artistic craftsmanship schools, to develop the skills and ability of the teachers and students. The organization of master classes, methodological courses, the solo concerts of talented students, holding competitions affect the development of education in the schools.
