On January 19, the event dedicated to January 20 tragedy was held by the organization of Nakhchivan City Culture and Tourism Department and Youth Union of the department at Nakhchivan State Film Fund.
The director of the Nakhchivan State Film Fund Mirakif Seyidov opened the event and mentioned that January 20 incidents introduced Azerbaijan to the whole world as strong-willed nation and capable of living independently. January 20 is an unforgettable page of Azerbaijan people fighting for her independence.
These incidents have become the heroism symbol of our people. There are such honorable days in the modern history of Azerbaijan that reflect the struggle of our people for national ideals, the will to overcome all the difficulties in this way. January 20 is an important stage in the struggle of independence of our people.
On January 19, Babek Region Culture and Tourism Department organized a conference dedicated to the memory of January 20 martyrs.
The event started with one minute of silence to honor the memory of January 20 martyrs.
First, the head of Babek Region Culture and Tourism Department Jeyhun Farajov opened the conference and mentioned that Azerbaijani people always remember the memory of heroic sons of this land. There are such incidents in the life of our people that we will never forget, these days are more remembered from time to time and become the symbol of freedom. The aim of this conference organized in the eve January 20 tragedy is to be got acquainted with the historical heroism of our people. On that night, Azerbaijan people demonstrated their heroism, the loyalty to Homeland, land, the spirit of struggle for freedom to the whole world. Just because of this determination, will, our people obtained the sacred desire and gained national liberty.
Then, the head of Nehram village Memorial Museum of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, the honored culture worker Akif Hajiyev mentioned that January 20 is a day written with martyrs’ blood in Azerbaijan history. At the same time it is a honorable heroism chronicle of Azerbaijan people for freedom.
On January 18, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Children’s Library named after Adil Babayev held a literary and artistic composition titled “Bloody night-bloody history” on the occasion of 28th anniversary of January 20 incidents together with its readers.
Before the event, the librarians and schoolchildren readers visited the martyrs’ avenue in Nakhchivan city. Here, the librarians gave detailed information about the fight for Sadarak happened at the same time of bloody January incidents and the heroism of our sons for our lands.
Then the event continued in the library. The event started with one minute of silence to honor the martyrs. The director of the library Kamal Akhundov opened the event and spoke about causes of January 20 incidents, the courses and the final results of the incidents. He mentioned that this was the first step taken by the Azerbaijani people on the way to independence.
The collaborator of the library Masma Jafarova made a speech on the topic “January 20 is the day of sadness and pride”.
The schoolchildren readers Aytaj Hasanova, Rafiga Babayeva, Ramil Maharramov, Nigar Karimli, Nuray Nabatli recited poems dedicated to January 20.
An excursion of a group of active young people to the Memorial Museum was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on January 18.
Kenan Tagizade, the chief advisor on the creative youth of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, made an opening speech and said that the people of Azerbaijan always remember and respect the memory of their heroes. There are tragedies in the history of our people that, as time passes, they are not forgotten, live in our hearts and become the symbols of freedom. The purpose of this excursion to the Memorial Museum on the eve of the 20th January tragedy is to acquaint young people with the heroic history of our people. January 20 is a symbol of pride in our nation's history. It shows that the blood of our martyrs was not for nothing and at the expense of these bloodsheds the foundation of our independence and statehood was laid. Future generations will also remember their heroism with respect.
An open lesson on "January 20 tragedy in the works of writers and poets" dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy was held in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh with the participation of teachers and pupils of secondary school №10.
Alamzar Ibrahimova, the director of the museum, made an opening speech and said that Nakhchivan was declared the capital of Islamic culture for 2018 and five thousand years old Nakhchivan is rich with the examples of Islamic culture.
Historically, as one of the magnificent cities of the Near and Middle East, Nakhchivan played a significant role in the preservation of the centuries-old achievements of Islamic culture.The director of the museum also spoke about the courage and fidelity of the sons of our country who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and independence and said that national leader Heydar Aliyev for the first time assured political-legal assessment to this tragedy.
