On October 31, discussion of the book “Stories” by outstanding writer, playwright Jalil Mammadguluzadeh was held in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after Mammad Said Ordubadi.
Opening the event, the director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after Mammad Said Ordubadi, PhD on History Aytekin Gahramanova said that Jalil Mammadguluzadeh’s works were very critical for extremist thoughts, ignorance, illiteracy and religious prejudices for his time.
In her speech, she noted that the “Sharqi– Rus” newspaper and its editor M.Shahtakhtli played an important role in the development of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh as a writer and journalist. The “Postbox” written in 1903, was published in “Sharqi– Rus” newspaper in 1904. Starting the publication of “Molla Nasreddin” magazine, Jalil Mammadguluzadeh laid the foundations of satirical journalism in Azerbaijan as well as in the Middle East and became known as “Molla Nasreddin”.
In recent years, important measures have been carried out to develop culture and art in the autonomous republic. We can point out the establishment of new musical collectives. Numerous folklore collectives, Chamber and Variety orchestras of Nakhchivan State Philharmony, Nakhchivan State Children’s Philharmony, Ashugs Union and other creative collectives are examples of this.
The decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Mr. Vasif Talibov “On the Establishment of the Variety Orchestra of Nakhchivan State Philharmony” dated January 10, 2012 is of great importance for the development and promotion of our musical culture. The Nakhchivan State Philharmony Variety Orchestra has been organized in a short time based on creative potential of talented youth in the autonomous republic and has gained popularity with its successful concerts. Necessary conditions have been created for the activity of this musical collective, and orchestra musicians and soloists have been provided with clothing sets and musical instruments. As a result, the Nakhchivan State Philharmony Variety Orchestra is actively involved in the cultural life of the autonomous republic, giving concerts in front of the public, focusing on the richness of the repertoire.
Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS was presented ancient books by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Opening the event, academician Ismayil Hajiyev, chairman of Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS, said that the branch also deals with the discovery of material and cultural samples, along with scientific researches. These precious examples are presented to different museums according to their profiles, others are kept in the department.
The academician said that some citizens are indifferent to presenting ancient items and books. Such rare objects, books and manuscripts must be submitted to science and cultural institutions so that they can be properly investigated and promoted. Material and cultural examples reflecting the great history of our people are provided with the necessary protection in these institutions and provide additional information about the period in which they belong.
Nizami Rahimov, the director of the museum, Honored Culture Worker of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, opened the event at the Nakhchivan State History Museum and talked about Mirbaghir Mirhaydarzada's activities in the direction of the establishment and development of the museum.
Gumral Mamiyeva, chief advisor on cultural heritage and museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Alamzar Ibrahimova, the director of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzada, Narmina Allahverdiyeva gave speeches at the event.
It was noted that Mirbaghir Mirhaydar Mirhaydarzada who lived at the end of XIX and at the begining of XX centuries had devoted almost 15 years of his significant life to museum construction in Nakhchivan.
After the establishment of The Sovet power in Azerbaijan in 1920, Mirbaghir Mirhaydarzada's activity was mainly related to the history of Nakhchivan, the study of ancient monuments and place names in this area, the collection and study of archeological materials and folklore samples.
On October 27, in accordance the joint action plan of the ministries of Culture and Tourism and Education of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the painting contest titled “Great leader Heydar Aliyev through the eyes of young painters” organized by Nakhchivan State Art Gallery and Ordubad Region Education Department started in Ordubad region. At the event held on this occasion, Hokuma Mammadli, director of Nakhchivan State Art Gallery spoke about the national leader’s services in the development of Azerbaijani culture and art. It was mentioned that in all periods of national leader’s power the development of all fields of our culture as well as art painting were in the spotlight. The national leader highly appreciated the work of cultural figures.
Various decisions, orders and decrees of national leader related to the development and promotion of our culture are still making a great contribution to the promotion and prevent national culture and the inculcation of future generations.
Hokuma Mammadli informed about the purpose and conditions of the competition and stated that the aim of the drawing competition titled “Great leader Heydar Aliyev through the eyes of young painters” which will be held in all regions of the autonomous republic is to reveal children, teenagers and young talents from autonomous republic schoolchildren and, further development of their creative abilities, forming spiritual and aesthetic outlook on the younger generation by utilizing the ancient and rich cultural heritage of our people, as well as instilling high patriotic spirit.
