Yesterday, an event titled “From the history of Azerbaijan music” organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was held at Sadarak region secondary school No.1.
Collaborator of the ministry Kenan Taghizadeh spoke about the purpose and importance of lectures on this subject.
Then the director of the Sadarak Children’s Music School Vafa Hasanova delivered a lecture on “From the history of Azerbaijan music”. It was noted that the history of musical culture of Azerbaijan is very ancient. Gamigaya and Gobustan rock paintings, material and cultural samples obtained during archaeological excavations give valuable information about our musical culture. In our folk literature, in the works of Nizami, Khagani, Fuzuli, Nasimi and others there is very rich information about medieval musical life.
It was noted that today in our country, as well as in the autonomous republic, the measures aimed at the development of our musical culture are successfully continued. Every year, construction of new buildings for musical schools, repairing concert halls, and holding numerous competitions and festivals in music field are a clear expression of this.
Upon completion of the lecture, participants watched a documentary film “Azerbaijani Music”.
