Nakhchivan honey and bee-keeping products, which are rich in mineral ingredients, are also of healing significance.
The Chairman of the Supreme Majlis bought honey and other beekeeping products, talked with beekeepers and was interested in their concerns.
It was noted that the measures taken in the development of beekeeping, the conditions created for the sale of honey, functioning of beekeeping pharmacies and the provision of medicines have led to the production of quality products and the increase in the number of bee families. If there were 12,620 bee families in the autonomous republic in 2000, now the number of bee families is more than 70,000. In recent years, in addition honey production, beekeepers also produce precious bee products as propolis, flower powder, bee-milk and other bee-keeping products. The demand for such valuable bee products, collected from bee families and having special medical importance, is increasing year by year. At the same time, honey packaging and processing facilities allow more productive product sales.
The Chairman of the Supreme Majlis gave instructions on holding meetings with beekeepers in the districts of the autonomous republic, carry out awareness-raising activities in the field of application of scientific achievements and advanced experience, delivery of honey-collecting equipment by leasing and delivery to beekeepers, continuing the establishment of processing and packaging enterprises for beekeeping products, as well as granting priority to the growing of the plants that are considered as a source of honey collection in the areas where they are located.
