“A form of home education” was presented to spectacles in Sharur

On November 12, the Sharur Region People’s Theater named after Rza Tahmasib presented the play of Najaf bey Vezirov - “A form of home education” to the theaterlovers at Sharur Region Culture House.

This theater, celebrating the 35th anniversary at the end of last year, staged the plays of modern playwrights, along with the works of our outstanding playwrights M.F.Akhundov, J.Mammadquluzade, S.S.Akhundov, A.Haqverdiyev, N.Vezirov, J.Jabbarlı and others.

The small-size comedy of our famous playwright Najaf bey Vezirov’s “A form of home education” is one of his first plays. The bad and rude upbringing in landlord families, ignorance caused by modern society and moral deformity are the main theme and critique of the comedy. For the criticism and exposure of laziness and inability, the author used two young men of the wealthy class.

Nasimi Mammadzade, the creative director, artist and music maker of the performance, achived to create an interesting show. The famous poems of our great satirical poet M.A.Sabir about education, school, art and profession sounded in the prologue and epilogue of the play,are in harmony with the play.

Both sons of Bayramali bey (actor Maharram Abilsoy) are lazy and unskilful. Although the father works hard for their children, none of them studies, and they become uneducated and ignorant. These unskilful children don’t study and they don’t get a profession. Because they have eyes on their father’s wealth. The foolish actions of Bayramali’s sons make the audience laugh and think. Along with these two young brothers, there is two old brothers in the play. Bayramali bey has been brought up with new methods. His brother Shahmar bey (Nemat Sultanov, Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan Republic) has received Eastern education and lives in Muslim traditions. They are not opposite characters in the play, but they differ in their thinking and goals. The natural and dynamic performance of both actors is of interest.

Altough modern education is important for Bayramali bey, he is so rude to his family. He is a wealthy landlord, but he is also a penny pincher. All of these show that he doesn’t properly set up family education.

Shahmar bey speaks Azerbaijani with foreign words and phrases. Shahmar bey lives with ancient rules, and he doesn’t worry about the study of his brother’s sons in Russian. He only insists his brother’s sons to respect him and stand up when they see him. The coming of Shahmar bey reveals the inhumanity in Bayramali bey’s house.

Rasul (actor Ilham Guliyev) and Safdargulu (actor Rza Guliyev), the sons of Bayramali, are lazy and uneducated. The fate of these two brother reanimates the fate of thousands of children of wealthy class. Inability and moral depravity described by the playwright, the landlord’s family and patriarcal environment first of all are pity. The contradiction between Bayramali bey’s high desires and his rude behavior seems clear.

In the play “A form of home education”, one of the most interesting characters is servant Asger (actor Elchin Arzumanov, Honored Culture Worker of the Azerbaijan Republic). Grumpiness and stinginess of Bayramali, laziness of Safdargulu and Rasul, phrase-mongerness of Shahbaz bey were unmasked by Asger. Asger who is more intelligent and witty than Bayramali’s sons can be considered the first initiative of the author in the creation of a positive character. The main idea of the play is to educate the youth, to become a useful person.

As well as other characters, the character of Asger draws attention and gives a good impression. Actresses Ilkana Javadova and Gulnar Guliyeva also took part at the collective scenes.

A new performance of the Sharur Region People’s Theater was watched with interest.

After the performance, Natavan Gadimova, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Kamal Jafarov, Head of the Executive Power of Sharur region, congratulated the collective of the theater and wished them great success.
