An event titled "Islamic values in Nakhchivan and their protection" held

On January 24, by the organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an event titled "Islamic values in Nakhchivan and their protection" was held for the young people operating in the institutions of the ministry system at Nakhchivan State Film Fund.

The senior consultant on the work with educational institutions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Kanan Taghizadeh made a speech stating that Nakhchivan was declared the capital of Islamic culture for 2108 at the sixth conference of the ministers of culture of Islamic countries held in Baku on October 14, 2009. The aim of today’s event is to get acquainted the young with Islamic culture and values, to enlighten them.

It was stated that Islamic religion in Azerbaijan spread in VII-VIII centuries and forms the basis of national and spiritual values of our people. Today, we are proud to say that the great people of Azerbaijan's Islamic culture - Nizami Ganjavi, Mohammed Fuzuli, Nasiruddin Tusi, Gatran Tabrizi and many other great personalities made a great contribution to world civilization and enriched Islamic culture.

It was mentioned that Islamic religion occupies a special place among the other religions existing in the world. We, along with the values associated with the religion of Islam, are respectful to all religions, and we are examples of religious tolerance. For centuries, the Azerbaijanis have lived and are living with Christians, Jews peacefully. Azerbaijan's example of tolerance once again proves to the world that people can live together in peace, regardless of their religion or culture.

The senior consultant of the State Agency for Work with Religious Associations of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, lawyer Bahruz Gulmaliyev mentioned that respect for Islamic values in the autonomous republic shows itself at the high level of religious ceremonies. Each year, the Gurban and the Ramadan holidays suggest   the feelings of justice and charity, compassion and benevolence, serve the spiritual purification of people, the unification for the Motherland and the people. This unity is a very important factor for our society and our state.

It was stated that the measures implemented in the direction of preserving our religious values are met with sympathy by the public. The sanctuaries are restored, new mosques are constructed, the necessary conditions are created for the religious men. In recent years, newly built mosques, renovated Turkish-Islamic monuments are the clear examples of the state's attention and care.

At the end of the event documentary film "Nakhchivan-Turk-Islamic Culture Monuments" was demonstrated.
