Three original paintings belonging to Bahruz Kangarli's creativity were presented to the museum

On February 2, the presentation  of three paintings of outstanding artist Bahruz Kangarli was held transfered permanently to the Bahruz Kangarli Museum in Nakhchivan  by Azerbaijan National Museum.

The minister of culture and tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova opened the event and mentioned that Bahruz Kangarli who founded realist painting in Azerbaiajan played an important role to develop realist easle painting, to form portrait and landscape genres as a seperate genre. His paintings, portraits, landscapes, still life, plot compositions, theatre decorations, graphic works are a wonderful example of this. While the number of these works was nearly 2000, only 500 paintings have reached to us.

It was stressed that there is  a constant care and attention towards great artist’s creativity in his native land where he was born. On the basis of the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Mr. Vasif Talibov dated February 15, 2001 “On the immortalizing the name of Bahruz Kangarli”, the monument of Bahruz Kangarli in Nakhchivan city has been restored, the Exhibition Hall of Artists’ Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic which has been operating since 1972 was named after the great artist.

According to the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic the Museum of Bahruz Kangarli was established. The original and high quality copies of about 200 works of the artist preserved at Azerbaijan National Art Museum were brought to the museum. At present, there are 1214 exhibits in the fund of the museum, of which 384 are exhibited at the exposition. 58 of them are original works. 33 of them were painted with water-color, 5 of oil paint, 4 of pincel, 7 of pencil, 9 of coal.

At the end of her speech the minister noted that three works of the outstanding artist were brought from the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art to enrich the exhibition of Bahruz Kangarli Museum. These works were painted with water-color, pincel. Two of them are children's portraits, and the other is "Tree of Poplar" painting in the genre of landscape. These paintings painted in the last years of the artist's life are valuable examples of art.

The Chairman of the Artists’ Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Honored artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulviyya Hamzayeva made a speech on the topic “The life and creativity of Bahruz Kangarli” and stated that the catastrophic events that took place in his homeland were reflected through his brush.  The works created by the artist with great heartache, included in the series of "Refugees" are still make people to think. In these works the atrocities committed by damned Armenians were described masterly.

The head of the Museum of Bahruz Kangarli Sabina Alinjali expressed her gratitude to the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for the care and attention shown to the museums on behalf of the collaborators of the museum.

 The explorer of Bahruz Kangarli heritage, art critic Nizami Aliyev gave information about the works of Bahruz Kangarli kept at Azerbaijan National Art Museum, as well as the three paintings presented to the museum.

At the end the exhibition of the museum was viewed.
