On February 2, a solemn ceremony was held at the Buta Palace on the occasion of Azerbaijan Youth Day.
Naxcivantv.az reports that Nakhchivan was declared the “Youth Capital” of Azerbaijan for 2018 at the ceremony. It was noted that Nakhchivan became the winner of online voting on www.genclerpaytaxti.
The minister of youth and sports Azad Rahimov presented the symbolic key of the youth capital to the minister of youth and sports of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Azad Jabbarov.
Speaking at the event, the minister of youth and sports of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Azad Jabbarov spoke about the measures carried out in the youth field in the autonomous republic and state policy in this direction. The minister of youth and sports stated that Nakhchivan which is the capital of Islamic culture this year will fulfill its mission properly as the youth capital of Azerbaijan.
During the event a video clip featuring Nakhchivan's magnificent view prepared by Nakhchivan TV was presented.
A group of youth were awarded Presidential award on the basis of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 2, 2018 at the ceremony.
The assistant on social-political affairs of President Administration Ali Hasanov, the department head on the youth policy and sports affairs Usif Mammadaliyev, the minister of youth and sports Azad Rahimov, state and government officials, deputies of Milli Majlis and representatives of youth organizations participated at the event.
After the speeches, the successful young people Reyhan Jamalova, Gulnar Alfidatli, Khagani Farajov, Agharahim Guliyev, Zumrud Safarova Aysun Zeynalova were presented the Presidential awards for 2018 Youth.
As well as creative and talented young people, who are successful in various activities implemented in the main directions of state youth policy were awarded.
