On February 26, in accordance with the Action Plan on Khojaly genocide of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Ministry of Education organized an interactive connection between the secondary educational institutions of the autonomous republic and the Memorial Museum in Nakhchivan.
Leyla Mammadova, the guide of the museum, firstly told about this cultural institution in the lesson on "We should not forget the Khojaly tragedy". She noted that there are more than 2000 exhibits at this cultural institution established by the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 1997. About 400 of them are exhibited at the exposition. Each of the exhibits reflects bloody and glorious pages of our history. The photographs of martyrs, their personal documents, papers on their combat activities, as well as photographs of National Heroes of the Azerbaijan Republic, heroes of the Soviet Union and their documents are protected here. Chronological order of exhibits in the museum provide an opportunity for the younger generation to learn more about our heroic history.
The students were informed about the genocide committed in Khojaly in this interactive lesson, and the measures taken by the President of Azerbaijan to reflect Khojaly truths to the world and stressed that the first legal-political assessment to the tragedy was assured by the great leader Heydar Aliyev.
The interactive lesson was watched by Heydar Aliyev Military School and 222 educational institutions of the autonomous republic.
It should be noted that on that day, the first lesson hour was dedicated to the Khojaly genocide in the higher, secondary and general secondary schools of our autonomous republic, and at the Heydar Aliyev Military School.
