On March 30, an event dedicated to the "March 31 - the Day of the Genocide of Azerbaijanis" was held in front of “Genocide” monument in Yaycı village of Julfa region.
Speaking at the event, the head of Julfa Region Culture and Tourism Department Parvin Hasanov noted that 100 years have passed since the March genocide committed by the Armenians against the Azerbaijani people. Armenians living with the dream of "Great Armenia" carried out ethnic cleansing in the areas where Azerbaijanis lived, killed ten thousands of people, ruined villages and cities. The atrocities committed by the Armenians against the Azerbaijani people do not fit within the framework of humanity.
It was noted that the political evalutation of the genocide committed by Dashnaks in the last two centuries was given by the national leader Heydar Aliyev for the first time, on March 26, 1998, he signed the Decree "On the genocide of the Azerbaijanis".
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order on the 100th anniversary of the genocide of Azerbaijanis on January 18, 2018, was decided to hold the events related to it. Both historical documents are of great importance in terms of bringing genocides committed by Armenian nationalists in different years to the world community.

Ahmedova, director of the Julfa District History-Ethnography Museum, d irector of the Center for Scientific and Methodological Studies of the Sayyar Mammadov and the head of the department M.Mammadov delivered speeches on the 1918 events, in particular, the genocide in Yayjy village.
Circle members of Yayjy village culture house and Dize village club sang poems about the tragedies that happened to our people.
