“The cloth peddler” performance was demonstrated

For the effective organization of work of folk theaters operating in cultural institutions, involving talented young generation to the amateur theater collectives, to organize their activities properly, to increase the interest of the population in the theater art,  festivals of folk theaters are organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for several years. Today, 5 folk theaters operate in the autonomous republic, 2 of them have been established in recent years. At the same time, measures are being taken to establish drama circles in regions where there are no folk theaters. The drama circle, established in Julfa at the end of 2017, is one of such collectives. Let's note that the main initiator of the creation of this drama circle is the youth working in the cultural institutions of the region.

On April 17, at Culture House of Julfa region, the drama circle presented its first performance - our great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov’s “The cloth peddler” operetta to the residents. Taking into consideration that the operetta   “The cloth peddler” is the most popular and famous work not only in Azerbaijan, but in the whole world, it is of interest as the courageous step of the collective to present this performance.

It is difficult to find an Azerbaijani who does not know the topic and the subject of the work. Our great artist Uzeyir Hajibeyov created a multifaceted, but interesting composition that created funny scenes in the form of curiosity. Asgar’s (actor Sahib Aliyev) action is completed live, beautiful and as a real life scene with the marriage of some people in the final. At the first stage, we get acquainted with the dreams of Asgar, Suleyman (actor Nazir Gulusoy) and Vali (actor Khazar Sadigli) who want to marry. Everybody enjoys Suleyman’s trick, and everyone get married to his beloved.

On the final stage of the performance  “The cloth peddler”  which has been repeatedly watched by every Azerbaijani, Asgar gets married to Gulchohra (actress Sura Mammadova), Suleyman to Asya (actress Zeynab Mammadova), Sultan Bey (actor Agil Adilzadeh) toJahan (actress Rasmiyya Mammadova), Vali (actor Khazar Sadigli) toTelli (actress Ayshan Muradova). In the first scenes, an issue that causes young people to think as an insoluble problem is, finally, ending with a pleasant, optimistic ending.

The highlight of the play is that all the roles are presented in a natural and lively way. The live performance of all the musicals in the work tells the effort of young people to create a successful work. Characters of the performance were mainly played by the culture workers of Abragunus, Kirna, Bananiyar and Gulustan culture houses. It should be noted that the work of our genius “The cloth peddler”   is not a simple work to stage although it is simple, close to the public. Comic events, beautiful music, interesting dialogues, the development of events in the rising line, the coloring of characters and other craftsmanship features always require talent and mastery from performers. Nevertheless, young performers of drama circle have managed to stage the work. In this sense we can see the performance as the success of the young collective.

The humorous and laughing dialogues in the performance, the live music are performed naturally by the performers. The first performances of young people in the classic work are memorable. It is felt that the performers can understand the great composer's music and create a sense of humor. This is due to the fact that some of the performers are music school teachers.

The director of the “The cloth peddler” performance is Sahib Aliyev, the artist is Aida Ibrahimova, the director of the Julfa City Club. Performers of the music in the performance are Tahir Samadov and Yashar Humbatov.

After the performance, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova and head of Julfa District Executive Authority Shukur Babayev met with the collective of the drama circle, congratulated them on the first stage and wished the collective creative successes.
