On October 19, 2022, the tourism and hotel management students of Nakhchivan State and “Nakhchivan” Universities were informed about the tourism potential of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the activities of the Tourism Department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and a seminar on the organization of marketing activities in tourism was held at the Tourism Department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Orkhan Jafarov, an employee of the "Development and Promotion of Tourism" sector of the Tourism Department, made a speech and stated that staff training is one of the most important goals in the field of tourism, as in all fields. In the autonomous republic, provision of the tourism sector with personnel with a high professional level is also taken into account. According to the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated April 3, 2019 "On additional measures and supporting innovations in the transfer of qualifications to relevant organizations in higher and secondary educational institutions", students of Nakhchivan State and “Nakhchivan” Universities studying tourism and hotel management, was adopted by the Tourism Department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During the academic year, regular meetings are held with students, excursions to museums, historical monuments, treatment centers and specially protected natural areas located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are organized, internships are conducted, and educational seminars are organized. With the participation of students studying in this specialty, the "Tourism volunteer" project was also launched, the logo of tourism volunteers of Nakhchivan was prepared, and the volunteers united around a single symbol. Within the framework of the project, the participation of tourism volunteers consisting of students studying in the relevant specialty in festivals and other cultural-mass events held in the autonomous republic was ensured, and the volunteers had operated as guides in the organization of tours. In addition, frequent meetings were held with the participants of the "Tourism Volunteer" project, seminars on various topics were organized. All of these factors have a positive effect on the formation of students as professional staff, quality tourists, and specialists in accordance with the needs of the tourism labor market in the future. The speaker also gave detailed information to the volunteers about the tourism potential of Nakhchivan and the activities of the Tourism Department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Later, Elshan Mehraliyev, an employee of the "Development and Promotion of Tourism" sector of the Tourism Department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, gave a speech on the organization of marketing activities in tourism. The speaker stated that the marketing created in the field of production could not find its place in the field of tourism for a long time. However, the increase in demand and supply in the field of tourism, and the formation of the tourism market led to the emergence of marketing in tourism. Tourism marketing, in accordance with the goal of a tourism region or tourism enterprise to obtain high profits, the characteristics of tourism demand in order for the tourism product to take a good position in the market. taking into account the study of the touristic product, it is a management philosophy that aims to make a choice and is related to the decisions to be made from these topics. The concepts of tourism and promotion are two concepts closely related to each other. In order to have a place in the tourism sector, the right publicity mechanism is a must. Nothing is worth anything that is not well advertised. Promotional activity is a planning used to enlighten the target audience and overcome the lack of information. Promotion is to inform potential tourists using the natural resources, history and main qualities of the tourist region and create a positive image about the touristic values of the country.
Marketing related to the field of tourism is a systematic process in which an enterprise tries to maximize tourist demand through research, forecasting and selection of tourism products and services. As the producers of the product increase, so does the demand for marketing. Market relations established in this way are called competitive market economy. Strongly developed market relations create the basis for effective marketing activities, which ensures the creation of close relations between production and consumption. The success of marketing in tourism depends on a comprehensive analysis of the market, production of a tourism product, analysis of systems and sales channels, product advertising. Marketing planning is essential. Marketing planning in tourism emphasized that it will help to coordinate the commercial policy, to apply the right sales tactics and to achieve the profit.
