At the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.Ordubadi an event was held on the occasion of August 1 - the Azerbaijani Alphabet and Mother Language Day yesterday.

Opening the event, collaborator of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of  Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Aygun Huseinova stated that the admission and development of Azerbaijani as the state language is connected with the name of the genius person Heydar Aliyev. At all times when the great leader was in power the Azerbaijani language was  treated as the main factor of the nationality. After the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s return to power for the second time in 1995, in the Constitution adopted by nation-wide voting the Azerbaijani language was reflected as the state language.

Director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.Ordubadi Aytekin Gahramanova gave a speech on the topic “My existence is my mother tongue” and director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Children’s Library named after A.Babayev Kamaladdin Akhundov on the topic “Language is love of the homeland”.

At the end of the event the exhibition dedicated to our native language took place.
