A literary-musical night dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Tofig Guliyev was held

A literary-musical night dedicated to the 100th anniversary of composer Tofig Guliyev was held at Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after Mammad Said Ordubadi on November 7.

The event was opened by director of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library  named after Mammad Said Ordubadi, PhD in History Aytekin Gahramanova. In the literary part, Naila Asadova, head of music-note department made a speech on the topic  “Magnificent composer Tofig Guliyev”, and head of the mass work department Yegana Rustamova on the topic “A heart full of songs”.

It was mentioned that one of the creators of Azerbaijan’s pop music Tofig Guliyev wrote glorious pages in the history of the centuries-old national culture, having unique original style as a composer. His diverse genres, which enrich the treasure of our people’s cultural treasures and today’s repertoire of various generations, impress people on national-moral values and aesthetic and artistic pleasure. Many people like to listen to the songs of great composer, people’s artist Tofig Guliyev when they are tired or in sad moments. These songs are as native as mothers’ lullaby.

Tofig Guliyev was a great man. He was one of the rare people who managed to treat people properly. Tofig Guliyev was a distinguished intellectual of Azerbaijani people not only for his art and music, but also with his personality. Today, his children and relatives are his spiritual followers, and it is enough to name Eldar Guliyev, our prominent director and art activist. The composer who awakens the pleasant mood of Azerbaijan will live in our hearts forever.  Today, when we listen to Tofig Guliyev’s music we were touched and we share our feelings about Baku, Azerbaijan, friendship and love with the works composed by him.

At the end, a video-slide consisting of composer’s songs was demonstrated and exhibition was viewed.
