The Shahtakhtinski’s Museum, established in the Shahtakhti village of Kangarli region by the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated February 9, 2010, is also important for the study and promotion of the life and activity of prominent representatives of the Shahtakhtinski’s family who had important services in the development of science, culture, education, health, state building and military art in Azerbaijan.
On November 25, Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov visited the Shakhtakhtinski’s Museum and was interested in the reconstruction works.
It was noted that the exposition hall of the museum was completely rebuilt, the fund room was created, the demonstration of exhibits on separate corners was arranged. The museum corners contain information, archive materials about the life and activity of Behbud Agha Shahtakhtinsky, a prominent statesman and diplomat who made exceptional services to sign the international Moscow and Kars treaties, the prominent publicist and public figure Mohammad aga Shahtakhtli, Minister of Education of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, one of the first members of the Azerbaijani parliament, Hamid Agha Shahtakhtinsky, outstanding artist Elmira Shakhtakhtinsky, the books of prominent representatives of this generation, as well as paintings.
The museum preserves the newspaper materials and photographs dedicated to diplomat Alexis Shahtakhtinsky, the information about one of the outstanding representatives of the Shahtakhti village, Isa Sultan Shakhtakhtinsky, Toghrul Shahtakhtinsky, Mahammadamin Shahtakhtinsky, Abulfat agha Shahtakhtinsky, Adila Shahtakhtinskaya, Zahra Shahtakhtinskaya, Bakhshali agha Shahtakhtinsky, Habibullah Shahtakhtinsky and Ataulla Shahtakhtinsky. Films dedicated to the Shahtakhtinskies, posters and envelopes dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Behbud Agha Shahtakhtinski are demonstrated at the exposition as well.
The Chairman of the Supreme Majlis noted that the Shahtakhtinsky family had important services in the history of Azerbaijan, set tasks on enriching the Museum of Shakhtakhtinski’s with new exhibits and incorporating the "Museum Days" schedule.
