The main factor in the development of tourism

One of the main factors in the development of tourism is infrastructure. There are many favorable  villages for tourism in our country, because the infrastructures in these villages, in particular, road supply do not meet modern requirements, there is no tourism development. But it is quite different in Nakhchivan. Now there remain only a few villages in the autonomous republic that their renovation is being carried step-by-step.

Shahbuz is one our regions taking benefit from social-economical development. The ruined roads in this mountainous area, the old, worthless buildings belonging to Soviet Union period gave a poor appearance here and also made the living conditions of the population extremely difficult. 

Since the construction work in the autonomous republic started mainly with the   remote areas,  Shahbuz region also entered a long period of renewal.   The roads to the remote villages of the region have been renovated, the modern appearance and beauty of new educational, medical, cultural, trade facilities have created harmony with the magnificent nature of Shahbuz. And it has become a factor for the development of tourism in this remote mountainous region. Now the visitors of this village meet this harmony in surprise and leave this region with good impressions.

The geographical position of the region and tourism

Shahbuz is attractive in all seasons of the year for tourists. The region is also favorable for several types of tourism. It smells fragrance of flowers  in spring and summer. The visitors also emphasize it: “It looks like there is smell of flowers in the air”. Why not? Shahbuz is the home of thousands of flowers on the planes, fields getting smooth from the snow over the mountains and warmness from the Sun. Shahbuz is the mysterious beauty of nature reflecting all the shades of the green color from its the south to the north. Clean air, pure water, healing springs, natural beauties, people's hospitality are aspects that every tourist wants to see.

Nearly 140 historical-cultural monuments have been registered in the region which 6 of them are of world importance. Most of them are archeological monuments. The History-Ethnography Museum which preserves the ancient history and cultural past, possessing rich exhibition attracts tourists’ attention coming here.

The house-museum established on the basis of the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated June 28, 2013 “On the establishment of the house-museum of People’s poet Mammad Araz” and put into operation in Nursu village of Shahbuz region on December 1-on the birthday of the poet has become one of the destinations which the tourists addresses in all seasons of the year.

Aghbulag situated 2 thousand meters above sea level is a very favorable village for tourism with its beautiful nature, unique geographical position. The recreation center which has been operating here since 2013 has boosted the development of tourism in the village. Aghbulag Recreation Center consists of 3 residential buildings and a canteen. There are 38 rooms in the two-storey and 56-seat buildings. All necessary conditions   have been created in the rooms, ventilation systems are installed and equipped with high-speed internet. There is also a shop for sale of agricultural products in the recreation center. A drinkable water line was laid on the territory of the complex from 2 kilometers distance. There is a football playground in the yard, children's entertainment facilities have been arranged, trees and flower bushes have been planted.

To reach the center built in the hills of the mountains you pass so many turnings with well-organized roads as you reach the distance from the foot of the mountain to the peak. When you look around here, you can see areas extending a few hundred meters below you. You think that as winter tourism develops, perhaps a great mountain skiing complex can be created here in the near future. There will be no account of the number of people who address Aghbulag for winter tourism.

Batabat summer pasture created as if tourism space by God is a miracle of nature, which the summer and winter visitors of it admire. The "Batabat" hotel-restaurant here is a great place to meet the needs of tourists coming to Batabat during the cold winter days, with all the facilities for their convenience.

3 in Kuku village, 5 in Agbulag village, 1 in Kulus village, 2 in Bichanek village of the region, totally, 11 houses are offered for tourists. Pictures and addresses of these houses, which are in demand at the level of foreign visitors, are also posted on the website of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. There were   weekly, monthly users of those houses. After reviewing all this, it can be concluded that the geographical position of Shahbuz region creates enormous opportunities for the development of ecotourism, rural green, treatment, winter and other types of tourism.

Those who prefer winter tourism

When it comes to tourism, it's primarily understood people go to vacation in the country and abroad to relax and cool on hot summer days. However, according to statistical data of the World Tourism Organization, around 30-35 percent of world tourists prefer to rest in winter each year. This, on the one hand, depends on people's employment, on the other hand, their love for the winter season, their admiration for romantic images of the winter. When it comes to winter tourism you think, first of all, mainly the ski type of sport in high mountainous areas. But this is not the only reason. People think that they have had a different leisure time, preferring winter tourism. Taking advantage of the freshness of the hills, the oxygen supplied by natural vegetation, to enjoy the rest with family, to escape the stresses of life, the desire to explore the region's culture has made winter tourism one of the more attractive tourism types in recent years.

"Winter tale" of Shahbuz

Those who see the winter season of Batabat, Aghbulag, Kuku, Bichanak, Nursu, Kechili, Kulus villages cannot forget their wonderful impressions for many years. Perhaps, what I say may be normal for people living here. Naturally, those who live in these places always see these beauties. But the strangers are faced with miraculous nature. The peak of these places situated at a height of several hundred meters above sea level, the mountains as if reaching the sky, precipitous cliffs, large valleys, the bushes with special figures in these valleys created by the snow, the tracks of the birds, animals which can bear the frost in this area, the clusters of ice hanging from the trees, creating the bridge over the rivers are the landscapes that each tourist wants to see. Everyone would like to watch the unique nature of Batabat,   the snowy winter of the still “Floating island” which moves in the lake in summer, to listen to dismal winter tale of Zorbulag, Soyudlu springs coming through precipitous ice. Everybody would like to see the view of Jamal fortress, Chingilli spring in Kechili, Ganligol, Darabogazi, Pirdere in Kuku. It is possible to talk about the natural beauty of Shahbuz for hours which has different beauty in   summer and winter. But seeing this beauty alive is absolutely different.

Better to see something one than to hear about it a thousand times

People who plan to relax in summer or winter are facing the choice of domestic or foreign tours. I think that everybody must first go to rest and relax in his country's tourism zones. Having thorough knowledge of our homeland, our trips to foreign countries will allow us to compare them with ourselves and to see the good in ours. Although it is winter now, the nature “does not think” to wear its white dress. But those who prefer Shahbuz can see the landscape they want. We hope that the proper organizations will be able to attract more tourists by promoting the tourism potential of Shahbuz. And every visitor will prefer this place when he thinks his rest in this beautiful land.
