The next open lesson at the Heydar Aliyev Museum on February 13 is dedicated to the 26th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. The pupils of secondary school No.17 in Nakhchivan took part in the open lesson.
Museum guide Afsana Maharramova said that the legal and political assessment of the Khojaly genocide is related to the name of national leader Heydar Aliyev. In February 1994, with the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev, Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic made a comprehensive analysis of the events in Khojaly and adopted a resolution "On the Khojaly Genocide Day", and called the UN and all world community to take measures against the Armenian terrorism. February 26 is declared "Khojaly Genocide Day", which is one of the bloody pages of human history.
Every year on February 26, at 17:00, the memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide is honored with a minute of silence by the Decree of the prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev, signed on February 25, 1997, "On the declaration of a minute of silence for the memory of victims of the Khojaly genocide".
At the end of the lesson the pupils closely acquainted with various exhibits of the heritage of the great personality at the Heydar Aliyev Museum.
