An open lesson on "National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Army Building in Azerbaijan"

An open lesson was held at the Heydar Aliyev Museum in Nakhchivan with the participation of cadets of the Heydar Aliyev Military School.

At the lesson Ramil Orujaliyev, the director of the museum, spoke about "National Leader Heydar Aliyev and army building in Azerbaijan". He said that the formation of Azerbaijan as an independent state, the establishment of the Azerbaijani Army, which is the guarantee of this state, is connected with the name of national leader Heydar Aliyev. One of the most significant services of the great leader in Nakhchivan during 1990-1993 is to ensure security of the autonomous republic, as well as establish the first national Azerbaijan's army forces here. After the national leader was elected the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, important decisions were taken in the direction of army building, and the State Defense Committee was set up in Nakhchivan. On September 15, 1992, the enhanced motorized brigade No.705 was established in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as a part of the first national army unit. On September 19, 1992, the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic adopted a resolution "On the protection of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and its borders".

It was emphasized that the guarantee of our independence and statehood was our National Army established by our great leader Heydar Aliyev. Successful implementation of our national leader's policy in the field of army building increases the power of our army day by day. Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which is an integral part of Azerbaijan, has really become a castle in front of the enemy as a result of purposeful measures in the field of army building. Due to the care and attention of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, new buildings, military and residential complexes were built and put into operation. Their ammunition supply has also been significantly improved.

It was noted that the activities carried out by Heydar Aliyev, the nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people, in the field of army building are successfully continued by Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Azerbaijan Republic. Based on the Decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic dated December 18, 2013 "On approval of the Regulation on the Defense Ministry of the Azerbaijan Republic", the formation of the Detached Combined Arms Army on the basis of the 5th Army Corps developed the defense potential of Nakhchivan.

At the end, cadets got acquainted with the exposition of the museum.
