The inhabitants of Arafsa village of Julfa region Nail Aliyev, Agil Galandarov, the inhabitant of Lakatagh village Zakir Huseynov, the inhabitant of Arazin village Mahmud Zeynalov, the inhabitant of Kirna village Sona Asgarova presented 75 exhibits consisting of carpets, weaving product, copper and earthenware items, pitchers, spinning wheel, silk kerchiefs, dibak (big pestle made of stone or wood), farming tools used in mill and thrashing-floor, lamps, iron helmets and other examples reflecting our ancient history and culture to Julfa Region History-Ethnography museum.
Speaking at the event the minister of culture and tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova mentioned that 29 museums and a museum-type facility are operating under the minister. These museums preserve nearly 140 thousand exhibits material-cultural samples reflecting the history, life style, traditions of our people. The state care shown to our museums in recent years should be especially emphasized. Last year, 445,747 people visited the museums of the autonomous republic, including local residents and guests from other regions of Azerbaijan, as well as more than 110,000 foreigners.
On the basis of the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated June 20, 2014, “On additional measures in connection with the organization of electronic education in educational institutions of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic”, today, distance lessons are organized between museums and the secondary schools, open lessons are conducted for young generation.
The minister stated that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic keeps in the center of attention to enrich the museum funds, to provide them with new exhibits. The employees of the museums and the inhabitants of the autonomous republic take an active part in this work. Last year our museums received 1340 exhibits that these exhibits were presented to the museums and the ministry voluntarily, 11 presentations were held. Within the presentation ceremonies ancient books were also presented at the Institute of Manuscripts of Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS. Agil Galandarov and Sona Askerova who presented exhibits to the museum said that such measures are important in terms of protection of our material and cultural heritage. Presenting these exhibits to our museums serves to the survival of our people's cultural treasures and their delivery to future generations.
The head of Culture and Tourism Department of Julfa Region Parvin Hasanov and the head of History-Ethnography Museum Gular Ahmadova made speeches and expressed their gratitude to the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on behalf of the all culture workers for his care and attention to the development of our culture.
At the end the museum exhibition was viewed. The event participants were told that at present, about two thousand exhibits are preserved in the museum. Nearly 700 of them are exhibited at the exposition.
