An educational event was held at the State Migration Service of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on "Historical and architectural monuments located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" with the participation of foreigners and stateless persons. Samir Abbasov, the employee of the service, opened the event organized jointly with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the autonomous republic.
Ali Rzayev, the employee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism gave detailed information on the subject at the event. It was noted that Nakhchivan was rich with ancient and medieval cultural and historical monuments - ancient settlements, cities, magnificent towers, tombstones which were the most beautiful examples of memorial architecture and unique nature monuments. The Azerbaijani Turks have created a great culture and tradition in Nakhchivan. After the adoption of the Islamic religion, Nakhchivan architects have also benefited from the Islamic architectural traditions and have further enriched our history and culture with examples of valuable Turkic-Islamic culture.
It was stressed that in the autonomous republic, consistent measures are being taken to restore the historical and cultural pearls, which are considered as the living memory of the people. In recent years, the Momina Khatun mausoleum has been preserved and reconstruction works have been carried out in "Ashabi-Kahf" Sanctuary, Yusif Kuseyiroglu and Noah's tombs, imamzadehs, ice-house monuments in the autonomous republic, "Jame" Mosque, Zaviya Madrasa, Ismayilkhan bath, Khan Palace, Khanagah Monument Complex in Julfa, Aza bridge in Ordubad, Geysariyya, Nakhchivangala and other historical monuments were restored. The orders signed by the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are the state documents of great importance for the study, protection, research and propaganda of our historical and cultural heritage. About 70 historical and cultural monuments in the autonomous republic over the past 22 years have been repaired and restored.
Then the participants of the event visited "Khan Palace" State Historical-Architectural, Momina Khatun and the Museum in the open air.
