National Theatre Day was marked

On March 10, an event was held on the occasion of National Theatre Day at Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theatre named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh.

Speaking at the event, the minister of culture and tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova mentioned that today Azerbaijan national theatre is celebrated the 145^th anniversary which has passed an ancient and rich historical development way. The minister congratulated the participants of the event and theatre workers on the occasion of this day.

It was emphasized that there is a great care for the activity of theatres in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In recent years consistent measures have been carried out to strengthen the material-technical base of the theatres, theatre buildings have been reconstructed or repaired and put into operation in the autonomous republic. Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theatre named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, Nakhchivan State Puppet Theatre named after M.T. Sidgi, Nakhchivan State Children’s Theatre, 5 folk theatres, the Student Theatre Studio of Nakhchivan State University operating in the autonomous republic play a significant role to form the spiritual and aesthetic taste of the audience, to provide effective leisure time.

It was noted that the creative search of the theaters operating in the autonomous republic, touring tours expanded and the collectives have become the professional propagandists of our national values. Our theaters always focus on the richness of the repertoire, stages valuable samples of our classic and contemporary dramaturgy, the works of world classics.

It was stated that important measures are implemented to prepare young actors in the autonomous republic. There is profession of actor specialty at Nakhchivan State University and artistic creativity work specialty at Nakhchivan Musical College.

The minister expressed her gratitude to the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for his care and attention to our culture, in particular, the theatre art on behalf of the participants of the event.

In the artistic part of the event a composition reflecting the establishment history of Azerbaijan professional theatre was demonstrated.

The presentation of the final part of “Satan” tragedy by the great playwright Husein Javid was met with interest.

The actors of Nakhchivan State Puppet Theatre named after M.T. Sidgi, Nakhchivan State Children’s Theatre performed some parts from different performances.

At the end of the event, a part from “Sword and quill” performance which newly staged by Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theatre was displayed.
