The pupils of Nakhchivan visited the National Museum of History and National Art Museum of Azerbaijan

Students from Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic visited the National Museum of History and National Art Museum of Azerbaijan as part of the tour under the motto "Let's discover our country" on March 18.

First, pupils got acquainted with exhibits reflecting the great history of our country at the National Museum of Azerbaijan History of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The students were informed about various exhibits of different ages, as well as archaeological materials found during archaeological excavations in Aghdam, Nakhchivan, Mingachevir, Shamkir, Gobustan and other cities and regions there. The exhibition "Azerbaijan Shirvanshahs" in the museum is of great interest for pupils.

It was noted that in the museum more than 300 thousand exhibits of different periods are preserved.

Then the pupils got acquainted with the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan. Students got information about the museum's activities, exhibits of different ages protected there.

The museum, which was established in 1936, displays exhibits of the Middle Ages, Renaissance period, paintings, and applied art.

The paintings of artists from Azerbaijan, Russia and Western European countries, including German, Italian and French artists, in the landscape, portrait and other genres attracted the attention of pupils.

The main purpose of the project is to indroduce students the modern life, history, cultural heritage, traditions, peculiarities of the country, achievements of independent Azerbaijan, to create a visual impression of the modernized image of our cities and regions.
