An event dedicated to the 112th anniversary of the "Molla Nasraddin" magazine held

On April 19, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh hosted an event "Traditions of "Molla Nasraddin" Literary School and molla nasraddinism".

Opening the event, director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, Alamzar Ibrahimova said that "Molla Nasraddin" magazine, which was launched 112 years ago, is one of the most brilliant pages of the Azerbaijani press history. The publication of the "Molla Nasraddin" magazine was an important event not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the Middle East, in the entire Islamic world. Every new issue of the magazine was a hot topic of discussions in the international press and public.

In his speech on the theme "Educative views of the followers of molla nasraddin", the Honored Teacher of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, PhD in pedagogy, docent Kamal Jamalov noted that the magazine's main idea is to call people for education, revival, science and progress. The promotion of women's freedom, culture and education, the struggle for the purity of the Azerbaijani language were among the foremost topics of the followers of molla nasraddin. Therefore, it has become a favorite magazine by intellectuals and people who think of the people's future. These ideas of the "Molla Nasraddin" magazine were spread throughout the Islamic world and brought him glory.

Honorary Culture Worker of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, PhD in philology, docent Nazakat Ismayilova talked about the creativities of permanent employees of the magazine Mirza Alakbar Sabir, Ali Nazmi, Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev, Uzeyir Hajibeyov and others in her speech on "Our writers as the followers of Molla Nasraddin". All prominent writers, poets and publicists of that time had an active part in the magazine.

At the end of the event, students of Nakhchivan Music College performed a composition based on articles published in the magazine.
