The 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev was celebrated in Nakhchivan

On May 10, the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov laid flowers at the magnificent monument to the founder and architect of the independent state of Azerbaijan, prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev in the main square of Nakhchivan and commemorated the great leader.

Heads of ministries, committees, chiefs of departments and enterprises, commanders of military units, representatives of science, educational institutions and the public, young people participating in the march "From salvation to Alinjagala", held on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the great leader, laid fresh flowers in front of the monument.

95 years have passed since the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the independent and powerful Azerbaijan state. The meaningful life of the genius leader whose period of leadership in our country remained in the history like the years of great construction, development, stability and progress, saved his people at hard times, saved Azerbaijan from the threat of destruction, ruin and eradication, was devoted to one purpose - the activity of the people and the Homeland.

The basis of the independent state building of Azerbaijan was laid during the first leadership of the genius leader in our country. In 1969-1982, the great leader set Azerbaijan on a path of dynamic development, constructed new factories, plants, large industrial enterprises, roads were built, school buildings, hospitals and cultural facilities were put into operation. Regardless of the imperial pressures, consistent measures have been taken to revive the national spirit and national identity, to promote and preserve our national values, customs and traditions, to educate young people on our historical traditions and values.

The way of independence started in Nakhchivan in 1990-1993 under the leadership of national leader Heydar Aliyev has become a leading force in the political environment of Azerbaijan, and concrete steps have been taken to restore our national statehood. Removing the words "Soviet Socialist" from Nakhchivan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic with the initiative and guidance of the prominent statesman, the adoption of our tricolored flag for the first time as the State Flag of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic constitutes an important milestone in the history of independent statehood of Azerbaijan. At that time, the great leader’s activity in Nakhchivan rescued the ancient land from the occupation and the people from being displaced fate. The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic became a center of struggle for our independence and national liberation, rescuing from the threat of occupation.

National leader’s return to the political power by the insistent demand of people, laid the foundations for a new stage in the history of liberation and development of Azerbaijan. “I have dedicated my life to bring happiness to people. I devoted my life to the people's freedom. I devoted my life to improve the welfare of my nation and people,” – said national leader Heydar Aliyev. Thanks to the determination of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, our country was saved from the destruction, the civil war, the foundation of national ideological unity in Azerbaijan, a strong army was created, a solid and sustainable construction path was identified, occupation of our lands was prevented. A civil society based on the rule of law was established. As a result of the activity of the great leader, Azerbaijan became one of the most dynamically developing countries in the world.

Today, the brightest pages of Azerbaijan's history of independence are written. President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continues the political line of the great leader in our country, has brought Azerbaijan to a new stage of development. Powerful army and strong economic potential have turned Azerbaijan into a reliable partner and leader in the region and the world. Azerbaijan hosts international competitions, festivals, global forums, prestigious events, and demonstrates its model on all aspects of development. All this has been achieved in our country as a result of the successful development of the Heydar Aliyev’s path. As President Mr.Ilham Aliyev said: "Heydar Aliyev's policy should be continued in order to turn Azerbaijan into a stronger, more powerful state. Our way is a glorious way, a dignified way, a way of independence. At the same time, this is the way to success. Because life and the role of Azerbaijan on a global scale show that this is the only right policy".

Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, where the national leader Heydar Aliyev's constructive line is successfully continued today, is on the path of sustainable development. Loyalty to the ideas of the leader of the nation led the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to comprehensive development. Over the past years, substantial progress has been achieved in the scientific, educational, cultural, agricultural, army building and other fields in the autonomous republic. Creation of modern infrastructure in Nakhchivan city, district centers, as well as in remote mountainous and border villages, construction of roads and bridges completely changed the appearance of residential areas and provided people with comfort and well-being.

Heydar Aliyev's political line is a statehood path that preserves past and present day, creates a solid foundation for the future development of the   independent Azerbaijan. As Mr. Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, said: “Today, the reality is that the genius Heydar Aliyev factor identifies the true image and development perspectives of not only the twentieth century Azerbaijan but also the twenty-first century Azerbaijan. What this great personality had done for Azerbaijan serves the progress of the region and the world civilization beyond the national borders of our country. It is no coincidence that the famous statesman and social figures called the great leader a living legend of the twentieth century world political thought. The great son of our nation was awarded the most prestigious awards, honorary titles in the world. The highest award he deserved in his lifetime is the fact being the national leader of Azerbaijan people”.

On May 10 in all regional centers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic events were held on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
