On November 14, the presentation of the web portal "virtualnakhchivan.az" was held at the Youth Foundation of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Deputy head of the department for humanitarian policy issues and work with public organizations of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Sahir Rustamov gave an opening speech and said that the successful socio-economic reforms carried out in the autonomous republic with the attention and care of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic have turned tourism into a developing sector. Historical and cultural monuments have been restored, new hotels and leisure centers have been built, recreation, shopping and healthcare facilities have been built in the most remote settlements, and roads have been renewed in the autonomous republic. It was noted that the "State Program on tourism development in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2018-2022", approved by the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated January 31, 2018, provides high-quality and competitive tourism services, full use of tourism potential and creates new opportunities. To provide the implementation of modern governance in the field of tourism, Tourism Department and Nakhchivan Tourism Information Center have been established. In the autonomous republic, the provision of the tourism sector with high professional and specialized staff was also kept in focus. Thus, Nakhchivan State University and "Nakhchivan" University train highly qualified specialists on Tourism and Hotel Management specialty.

It was noted that the "virtualnakhchivan.az" web portal, prepared by Nakhtel Limited Liability Company on the instruction of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, is the continuation of the work carried out in the course of promotion of tourism opportunities of the autonomous republic. The portal is a significant contribution to the promotion of prominent places, historical monuments, modern tourism and socio-cultural infrastructure. Therefore, the opportunities of the portal should be used and shared by the youth of autonomous republic in social networks.

Akbar Novruzov, director of Tourism Department of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, noted that the promotion of infrastructure and tourism potential of the autonomous republic is an important factor for tourists involvement. Nakhchivan Tourism Information Center, which is subordinate to the Tourism Department, carries out consistent work on propagation, promotes the tourism potential of the autonomous republic by using internet resources and tourists' requests are answered. "virtualnakhchivan.az" web portal will be the beginning of a new stage in promoting the tourism potential of the autonomous republic and will play an important role in the development of tourism in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
