Antiquity and modernity of Nakhchivan made great impressions on Ukrainian guests

On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, a group of teachers of the secondary school specializing in foreign languages No.12 named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva in Irpin city of the Ukrainian Republic visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During the visit, the guests got acquainted with the sightseeing places of Nakhchivan, the educational, cultural and health institutions of the autonomous republic. The members of the delegation expressed their impressions on Nakhchivan.

Valentina Antonenko – the principal of the secondary school specializing in foreign languages No.12 named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva in Irpin city: - First of all, I express my gratitude to Mr. Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, for his assistance in organizing this visit. We visited many educational and cultural institutions of the autonomous republic, and went to Duzdagh Physiotherapy Center. Nakhchivan has an ancient history and culture and it is so interesting for us. What's more interesting is that people here have great love for their history and values, they promote them. For example, we got acquainted with the Garabaghlar Tomb Complex that currently being restored, it reflects pearls of Eastern architecture. This careful attitude to historical monuments as this complex shows the care of your state to your historical past. Nakhchivan admired us by its historical past and culture, as well as its modern rapid development.

Lyudmila Arbuzina –the assistant principle of the school: - We are well-informed about your country and people. Azerbaijan, as well as the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, where we are currently on the tour, has passed a great development path. While we were here, we visited many historical monuments, museums, as well as many general schools in Nakhchivan. All the educational institutions are nice and they are equipped with modern technology. This shows that in Nakhchivan great attention is paid to education by the state. At the same time, this support can be seen in other fields as well. Duzdagh Physiotherapy Center is an important health institution with modern conditions. We were informed that every year people from different countries of the world come here for cures. Such a center plays an important role in promoting Nakhchivan and its comprehensive development. In short, the city of Nakhchivan attracted our attention with its cultural, educational institutions and its beauty, it made great impressions on us and after we return to Ukraine, we share these impressions with our school staff.

Alla Chumak – the teacher of the school: - This is my second visit to Nakhchivan, the first time I came in 2010. 8 years have passed, Nakhchivan has changed, new buildings have been built and greenery has grown. The most pleasant thing is the cleanliness in all areas of Nakhchivan. The kindness of the people increases this beauty.

We visited various museums here. The Heydar Aliyev Museum is proud with its magnificence, and we have informed that this museum was established when the prominent statesman was alive. We were informed that the vast majority of visitors of Nakhchivan began to get acquainted with the city from here. We have also been to Ordubad, and we enjoyed this ancient city. In the city surrounded by historic streets, magnificent plane trees, new buildings that reflect modern development are also amazing. We have very interesting impressions about Nakhchivan.

Oksana Zubenko – the teacher of the school: - Fresh Nakhchivan air and cleanliness of roads and streets attracted me. The people's kindness and hospitality cannot be expressed in words, they are very kind. You have a very rich cuisine. Your meals are delicious. Another factor that makes Nakhchivan interesting as a city is the complementing of antiquity and modernity. For example, just a few meters away from a magnificent monument built in honor of Momuna khatun, you can be surrounded by modern parks, greenery and new buildings. Or, if you visit the place where Nakhchivan khans lived, you can see the ensemble of modern buildings. Generally, we had great impressions in Nakhchivan. I'm thinking about coming back to this ancient land of Azerbaijan.

The visit of the delegation of the secondary school specializing in foreign languages No.12 named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva in Irpin city of the Ukrainian Republic to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic ends today.
