Our children’s smile is our happiness...

Sara Azimova writes ...

The performance of “Sky  Bird”  play by Belgian poet-dramatist, Nobel Prize laureate Moris Metterling  on the stage of Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theater   was remembered with a number of successful sides. And from the beginning, I would say that it was a great pleasure for the audience to enjoy.

New art success of the Nakhchivan theatre…

This work, which was staged for the first time at the theater of Azerbaijan at the beginning of the 30s of the last century, had not been addressed till today. As the “Sky bird” is a philosophical work, it is necessary to unite a strong director, artist and composer work in the art of solving the idea of the author.  It is gratifying that the performance was successful and the idea-content of the work was conveyed to the audience. Impressive beauty and successful scene resolution have brought  new psychological mood and aesthetic style to the Nakhchivan theater. We will not be mistaken if we call the work  staging  at the Nakhchivan Theater for the first time a new art success of our venerable theater.

It should be noted that the philosophical and psychological aspects of the subject matter are deeper and in most cases it does not precisely capture it at first glance. After completing the story to the end of the play, you can not escape the effects of the work for hours. That is the beauty and freshness of the stage.

The Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of  Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov, who met with creative staff after the performance, highly appreciated the scene solution of the work and thanked the staff. The Chairman of the Supreme Majlis said that works written in philosophical genres, despite of their difficult perception have great meanings.    The successful performance of the play is also a sign of Nakhchivan’s development. Because the development of every land is measured not only by economic development, but also by cultural development. It is impossible to achieve common development without cultural development.

The play is about the visit of the son of a wood-hunter, Tiltil and his daughter, Mitil, to the world of other memories, night palace, forest, garden of happiness, and happy future world searching for the magical Sky Bird  on Christmas Eve. During the journey, they met the dream of their grandparents who passed away long ago, as well as the trees, animals, light, and the secrets of the night hidden by the night. At the end of the performance, they wake up and return to their own world. They realize that there is no need to look for happiness far. The happiness of every human being  is in his heart. Those who want to be happy should be able to be kind. They realize that the Sky bird, the symbol of happiness, is in the heart of everyone. The happiness of every human being love, compassion and kindness is in his heart. Man should be able to satisfy those who are in his hands. He is always looking for something new. He who has a simple house wants to live in a larger, richer house. Or he watches of the people around him in admiration, do not see the happiness at his home, and so on. It is like the brother and sister in the work. After they woke up, their hut seems to them as a palace, everything looks fine and meaningful to them. They got the hidden meaning of what is happening in this world. Naturally, it is difficult for people to realize the life through a dream like that. That is why this instructive work makes the audience think, takes them the world of dreams, inspires the fact that the human being is in this world where we live happiness; the scene is formed by the idea of “Be wise, first of all you will learn to be happy”.

It is good that the main roles in the performance were assigned to young actors and actresses, who became experienced in Nakhchivan. They are able to cope with the roles they play. This shows that a new generation of professional actors is formed in Nakhchivan theater. Heroes of the play- a boy named Tiltil and his sister Mitil - Vali Babayev (student of “Nakhchivan” University) and Heyran Abdullayeva (a student of Nakhchivan Music College) could present masterly to the audience. Their excellent stage movements, gestures made on the necessary moments, fluent scene talk and so on tell you that they will perform a number of successful performances in the future. I would like to point out that all the young people in this performance are stepping on stage from the stage of the Nakhchivan State Children’s Theatre. These young people succeeded in presenting the events to the audience.

One of the most memorable images of the performance was Fatima Yusifli, a student at “Nakhchivan” University. The 21 years old young actress, who performed the mother of Tiltil and Mitil at the play could present this image impressive and complete. The image presented by the actress was distinguished for its dynamism and naturalness. Her clear speech, caloric scenery appearance, professional style of play gave a memorable scene life to this image. Fatima presented parents’ love as the biggest happiness in the world. One of the most impressive moments of the performance is the mother appeared in front of her children in the beautiful dress. Children want their mother always to be so young and beautiful. But the mother tells them that the hearts of parents are always young and beautiful. Simply, you have to be able to see them.

People’s artist Rza Khudiyev, Honored artists Behruz Hagverdiyev, Ali Aliyev, Vusal Rzayev, Kaklik Novruzova, young actresses Nurbaniz Niftaliyeva, Mehri Nabiyeva, Zamina Bakhshaliyeva were able to succeed in solving the success of the work and the idea of the author.

Every stage of the play is instructive. The oak tree speaks because the father of the children is a woodcutter. As tree branches were cut down, there is   a great sense of complaint and a message to the modern society. After all, cutting trees damages the nature.

I would like to turn the director’s work again. If the director is sensitive to the theme of any work, he can comprehend his own imagination and give it a unique incarnation in the scene poetry, and if he is able to direct the actors to the aesthetic demands of that genre then the inspiring performance occurs. In our opinion, director Tofig Seyidov managed to achieve that.

Naturally, along with the director, work of the composer and artist is also important in the success of every scene. The stage design of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulviyya Hamzayeva should also be highly appreciated. As the events take place, the location of events in the general background is convincing. That is, everything is reflected in its place, its color. These words can be said about the musical composition of the work. The music by Natavan Gadimova, philosophy doctor on art is in the harmony of idea of the play.

P.S. When I was watching the performance, I returned to my childhood in the early of the 90s of the last century-when there was lack of bread. Once again I thanked that now we do not have that difficult time. In Nakhchivan, children are not in search of “Sky bird” like Tiltil and Mitil. Because they are happy. They live a happy and comfortable life. Our children’s smile and comfort is our happiness ...

Let’s appreciate it!
