“A book is a treasure of knowledge” conference was held

On September 18, at Nakhchivan Teacher’s Institute, the conference titled “A book is a treasure of knowledge” was held in connection with the holding of the Reading week.

The event was opened by the director of the library, PhD on History Aytekin Gahramanova. Doctor of Philology, professor Sadagat Hasanova made a speech on the topic “Learning from books is always useful”, the scientific secretary of the library, Gunay Kangarli on the topic “Reading should become the habit of the society” and librarian Gulnisa Zeynalli on the topic “Information period and reading problems”.

In the speeches, detailed information was delivered on the benefits of reading books, the important role of reading in the human life, the problems of reading in the period we live in. It was noted that it is undeniable fact that one of the most important remedies for the formation of educated, knowledgeable, intellectual, and cultural formation of future generations in society is reading. Reading plays an important role in the formation of human thinking and character. Scientific investigations have repeatedly proved that reading not only reduces stress, but also opens the mind, saves brain from aggression, it provides the ability to understand and interpret the nature and the society, enrich the human’s word treasury. Sometimes they say that the existence of new technological possibilities in humanity, the great development of technologies such as computer, phone, and so on. undoubtedly focuses attention on books to the second plan. Let’s just say that reading a book has a positive effect on the human’s intellectual level and outlook. In addition, the book is a door to the world of science and intelligence. Experts believe that reading comprehensively improves people and developes their speech abilities. A good book has always been a means of lightening in a smart person’s life. Teachers and students of the Nakhchivan Teachers’ Institute and employees of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.Ordubadi attended the event. Pro-rector on academic affairs of Nakhchivan Teachers Institute, doctor of philological sciences Akif Imanli expressed his gratitude to the library management and staff for organizing the event.

At the end of the event, the exhibition   called “A book is the source of knowledge” was viewed.
