A meeting with Professor Tofig Bakikhanov, the prominent composer, People's Artist of the Azerbaijan Republic, with the Order of "Glory", was held Nakhchivan Composers' Union.

Yashar Khalilov, the Chairman of the Union, Honored Art Worker of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, opened the event, said that Tofiq Bakikhanov's activities as a public music figure is very rich. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Composers' Union since 1958. Tofig Bakikhanov got rewards for his activities in music by the state. Today, a certificate confirming that he was elected Honorary Member of the Nakhchivan Composers' Union is presented to the composer, who has a close creative connection with Nakhchivan.

The presentation of the books by Gunay Mammadova, the responsible secretary of Nakhchivan Composers' Union, PhD in Study of Art, "Tofiq Bakikhanov: Joy of Nakhchivan" and "The Composer Nariman Mammadov", its scientific editor was Tofiq Bakikhanov was held. The author thanked Tofig Bakikhanov, who helped her in the working out process of books, and said she planned to prepare a book about the foreign trips of the well-known composer in the future.

At the end of the event, Tofig Bakikhanov spoke about the great care for the development of music in Nakhchivan. He thanked for being an honorary member of the Nakhchivan Composers' Union. He stressed that he devoted some part of his activities to this land. Tofig Bakikhanov said: "I will continue my creative work in this direction in the future," and he said that Nakhchivan's development pushed him to new creative achievements. At the end, the questions of the students of Nakhchivan State University were answered, and they were given directions by the composer.

Composer Tofig Bakikhanov also met teachers and students of Nakhchivan Music College and teachers of children's music, arts and crafts schools in Nakhchivan. Ali Rzayev, an employee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, commented on the life and activities of Tofig Bakikhanov and noted his great service in the Azerbaijani composer's school. It was noted that in 1930 Tofiq Bakikhanov, was born in the family of People's Artist Ahmed Bakikhanov, got excellent music education, mastered the traditions of classical music in Azerbaijan and the world. He was also known as a violinist in his youth, composed music for many plays, including ballets, symphonic works and mughams, a large number of chamber-instrumental and chamber-vocals, songs and romances.

"Azerbaijan" by Rauf Hajiyev, "Qaytaghı" by Tofiq Guliyev, dance from Arif Malikov's "Mehebbet efsanesi" ballet, Balash's aria from "Sevil" opera by Fikret Amirov and "Gorush yeri" by Tofig Bakikhanov were performed by teachers and students of Nakhchivan Music College.

At the end, Tofiq Bakikhanov gave advice to young musicians and their questions were answered.
