On January 29, the discussion of the book entitled "Azerbaijan at the Threshold of the Twenty-First Century and the Third Millennium" was held in Nakhchivan city secondary school No.5 named after Huseyn Javid, according to the list of "Books Necessary for Reading".
Aytekin Gahramanova, the director of the library, PhD in History, made an opening speech at the event. Gunay Kangarli, scientific secretary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.S.Ordubadi stated that "Heydar Aliyev's ideas are the basis of the development strategy of Azerbaijan", Yegana Rustamova, the head of the mass work department, gave a speech on "National Leader Heydar Aliyev's appeal to the Azerbaijani people on the occasion of the New Century and the Third Millennium". It was stated in the speeches, the book is about the appeal of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev to the people of Azerbaijan on the New Century, the third millennium in 2001. There is information about the situation in Azerbaijan in 1920-2001, historical events, changes and improvements in various fields - industry, agriculture, culture, art and education in this book.
While considering the life and political activity of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, we can see that the epoch of Azerbaijan's development and the history of independence began on July 14, 1969 by the election of the great leader. The prominent statesman, who deeply relied on the inexhaustible power and richness of the Azerbaijani people, transformed the economic, political and moral foundations of our present independence into the industrialized state of the rapidly developing agrarian country with his great determination, plants and factories, electric stations, water pipes, melioration facilities, new enterprises were built.
At the end, school principal Esmira Hasanova expressed her gratitude to the whole staff of the library who organized the event. Teachers of the school and library staff took part in the event.
