A roundtable talk in Nakhchivan Music College

On February 28, Nakhchivan Music College held a roundtable talk on "The role of the "Akhlaq-i Nasir" by Nasir al-Din Tusi, the philosopher, astronomer, statesman, in the list of "Books necessary for reading".

Aytekin Gahramanova, the director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.S.Ordubadi, PhD in History, made an opening speech at the event. Nuriyya Jafarova, the chief librarian of methodology and bibliography department of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic named after M.S.Ordubadi, gave detailed information about Nasir al-Din Tusi's life and creativity. Aytekin Gahramanova, the director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.S.Ordubadi,  spoke about "Akhlaq-i Nasir" by Nasir al-Din Tusi".

It was noted that Nasir al-Din Tusi 's creativity never diminished in importance. In the last 100 years, it is difficult to find a second genius whose life and creativity is studied as much as his in the world. The X-XIII centuries are considered the most prosperous period of Turkish and Eastern renaissance. The rapid rise of science and culture during those centuries, played a substantial role in the European renaissance nearly 300 years later. There is no other oriental scientist whose works had great impact on the European renaissance in the field of astronomy and geography as much as Tusi's. Nasir al-Din Tusi , building the Maragha Observatory, the highest peak of science for that time, laid the foundation of a great school in the study of celestial bodies. Even now, when the world's most famous astronomers conduct scientific researches on the study of celestial bodies, they first study the researches of Nasir al-Din Tusi in this field and only after that they say something about the matter. This indicates the greatness of the Tusi mentality that the Turkish world has brought to humanity.

The prominent Azerbaijani scientist of the XIII century, Mohammed Nasir al-Din Tusi, became a moral theorist of Eastern peoples with the "Akhlaq-i Nasir" in the history of science, education and pedagogical thought of Eastern peoples. His many colleagues knew him as both philosopher and scientist. "Akhlaq-i Nasir" is a collection of moral, philosophical and pedagogical ideas that predominate in the Near and Middle East. "Akhlaq-i Nasir" had been revised three times by Tusi. In this work, the scientist had shown that he was a good teacher and mentor. The author who wrote about man's natural abilities and talent, the impact of the environment on human beings demonstrated the vital role of training and upbringing in this work with vital hemistiches. The definitions given by Tusi to "wisdom", "science" and "deed" did not lose their importance. "Akhlaq-i Nasir" consists of "Introduction and reasons for writing this book", "First notes and division of sciences", 3 articles and 30 chapters. The philosophical and educative works such as Akhlaq-i Nasir, which is considered to be immortal work in ethics and aesthetics, could be written by a person who had the highest level of education, intelligence, talent and parlance.

At the roundtable talk, the articles and chapters in the work were discussed.
