Nakhchivan through the eyes of photographers and travelers

Ancient history, rich culture and modern development annually increase the tourism potential of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Every year, hundreds of thousands of tourists travel to the autonomous republic to get acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of the ancient land. Historical monuments, such as tombs, fortresses, ancient settlements dating back thousands of years are of great interest to tourists, especially foreigners. After returning to their countries, they share photos of Nakhchivan in the prestigious media, social networks and share their impressions. Here are such two materials.

Photographer Sitara Ibrahimova: Feast your eyes on "the Machu Picchu of Azerbaijan"

In January of this year, photographer Sitara Ibrahimova visited Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Sitara Ibrahimova, who returned from Nakhchivan with great impression, posted a photo of Alinjagala on the "Instagram" page of the popular "Calvert Journal" electronic magazine: "Feast your eyes on "the Machu Picchu of Azerbaijan". Magnificent Alinja Fortress is located on a mountain top in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an exclave of Azerbaijan and is considered one of the hotbeds of civilization in the East".

For information, note that Machu Picchu, as Alinja Fortress, is also at the top of the And Mountains and is known as one of the seven wonders of the world. Machu Picchu is one of the most visited and researched places. Every day about two thousand people visit this place.

The result of interest in our history is that Alinjagala's photo was liked 433 times by viewers and was the second most liked photo on the magazine's "Instagram" page.

Note that Calvert Journal's head office is located in London, England. The electronic magazine basically explores the cultures of Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Russia and Central Asia. The editorial staff of the magazine, who repeatedly won international awards in photography, consists of the journalists working at the  "Guardian" and "Telegraph" newspapers of Great Britain, as well as the "Reuters" news agency.

British citizen Mike Kendall: Nakhchivan is a modern, clean and progressive place

On March 5, British citizen Mike Kendall, who is a member of the "World Travelers", visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. After returning to his country, he shared photographs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on Facebook and wrote the following note: "Very enjoyable day in Nakhchivan an autonomous region of Azerbaijan. Modern, clean, progressive place. Not what I expected at all".
