Participants of the educative tour-campaign "Let’s discover our country" were closely acquainted with historical and cultural monuments located in Nakhchivan on March 29.
Tour-campaign participants who visited "Nakhchivangala" Historical-Architectural Museum Complex were informed about the historical objects discovered in the territory of the autonomous republic. It was noted that, the pitcher belonging to the V millenium B.C, various household items belonging to the V-III millennium B.C, ceramic products from the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age, copper tools, gravestones, and weapons were valuable exhibits. The 5,000-year-old city culture of Nakhchivan caused great interest. The tomb of Prophet Noah, next to the complex, also tells of the ancient history of our land.
The schoolchildren who visited Nakhchivan Business Center were informed about the achievements of the autonomous republic in the economic sphere. It was noted that there are 192 kinds and 1258 varieties of 94 enterprises and 112 variety products of 17 types produced in 37 households, 254 handmade artworks by 30 artisans, paintings, carpets and map of production facilities of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
It was stressed that as a result of the situation created in the autonomous republic, food security has been fully ensured, the volume of imports has considerably decreased and new jobs have been created. Today, 372 kinds of products are produced, demand for 344 kinds of products are regulated of local opportunities.
The Youth Center in Nakhchivan hosted a meeting with the schoolchildren from Baku visiting the autonomous republic within the framework of the educative tour-campaign "Let’s discover our country".
Prior to the meeting, the students got acquainted with the Youth Center. It was reported that the center was commissioned in 2014 for the youth of the autonomous republic. The four-storey building features 3 lingaphone classrooms with electronic boards, a computer room, an electronic library, intellectual and board games, interactive booth and cafe. At the center, the latest achievements of information technologies have been implemented, 104 computer sets have been installed, a central server system and an internal network has been established, and access to the internet has been ensured. Young people get theoretical knowledge, as well as practically correct pronunciation habits in any foreign language here.
Minister of Youth and Sport of the autonomous republic Azad Jabbarov and Minister of Education Mammad Garibov and others made speeches at the meeting.
Speaking about the importance of excursion, the speakers noted that the tour-campaign organized under the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev is of great importance for the upbringing of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and the formation of their outlook.
It was emphasized that today the development of education in the autonomous republic, achievement of physical culture and sports, creation of modern sports infrastructure, increase of interest of youth in sports are always in the center of attention. New school buildings are built or rebuilt, and consistent measures are being taken to strengthen the sport infrastructure.
It was noted that the visit of schoolchildren from Baku to the autonomous republic gives them an opportunity to get acquainted with the history, culture and socio-economic development of this ancient land.
At the end of the event gifts were presented to the participants of the tour-campaign.
The Nakhchivan State Historical Museum, where more than 48,000 exhibits were preserved related to Nakhchivan's rich and ancient history, also made a great impression on the pupils. It was pointed out that the expositions mainly cover ancient, medieval, new and modern times. The museum consisting of ten sections includes various instruments of labor, items from the Paleolithic and Neolithic eras, grain stones, obsidian boards, stone hammers, bone awls, copper and silver coins discovered in Nakhchivan, pictorial materials on the tomb of Yusuf Kuseyir oghlu and other great architectural monuments built by Ajami Abubakr Nakhchivani, one of the most famous architects of the Middle Ages, carpet weaving, jewelry, copper, ceramics and pottery, handicrafts of national masters.
The pupils who visited Huseyn Javid tomb, erected on the grave of the great Azerbaijani poet and playwright Huseyn Javid, were informed that this magnificent architectural-memorial complex was built with the personal initiative and patronage of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The tomb which the architectural style of Ajami Nakhchivani is vividly seen, consists of the upper and lower parts. Huseyn Javid's bust has been erected here. The author of the monument is the Honored Architect of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rasim Aliyev, sculptor is People's Artist Omar Eldarov. The mausoleum was built by “Star” Construction Company of the Republic of Turkey. The opening of the monument was held on October 29, 1996, on the occasion of the 114th anniversary of Huseyn Javid.
The acquaintance with the State Flag Square and Museum, which is at the highest point of the city of Nakhchivan, has attracted great interest among Baku schoolchildren. It was noted that the State Flag Square and Museum were established on the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic “On the establishment of the State Flag Square and Museum in Nakhchivan” on August 22, 2014. The pole height of the flag is 57 meters, the flag length is 20, the width is 10 meters. Flag Museum is located below the pedestal of flag pole. The eight-pointed star-shaped museum is surrounded by columns of the same structure.
The Flag Museum is of exceptional importance in terms of the history of our state attributes and their delivery to future generations. A copy of the Decision "On the State Symbols of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic", adopted at the supreme legislative body of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on November 17, 1990, at the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev, and photographs of that date are displayed at the museum. The flags, as well as the restored flags of Nakhchivan khanate, emblems and administrative maps of the states existed in the territory of Nakhchivan historically, the flags of the cavalry troops of the Nakhchivan khanate, the warrior dresses, the constitution of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic adopted in various years, photos of old coins are exhibited at the exposition of the museum.
Participants of the tour-campaign “Let’s discover our country” were sent to Baku at Nakhchivan International Airport on March 29.
On the same day, the Nakhchivan schoolchildren in Baku returned to the autonomous republic.
