The opening of IV International Drawing Festival "Nakhchivan - Cradle of Humanity"

The opening ceremony of the IV International Drawing Festival "Nakhchivan - Cradle of Humanity" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev was held at Ajami Space Culture and Recreation Park in Nakhchivan on May 23.

Rahman Mammadov, head of the Department for Humanitarian Policy and Public Organizations of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic said that a series of events are being held in accordance with the "Action Plan to hold 95th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" approved by the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated April 16, 2018. IV International Drawing Festival "Nakhchivan - Cradle of Humanity" is also held in accordance with that Action Plan approved by the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated April 16, 2018.

It was noted that the development of culture, art, including the fine arts in Azerbaijan is related to the name and activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev. During the reign of the great leader, special attention was paid to the development of culture and fine arts, numerous cultural centers, exhibition halls were established, the creative process in the field of painting spread.

The traditions of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the field of culture and art are being continued in our country, as well as in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Creative persons are supported and measures are taken to preserve and develop the school of art. Fine Arts and Drawing specialty in Art Faculty of Nakhchivan State University, Teacher of Fine Arts specialty in Nakhchivan Teachers’ Institute were opened in the autonomous republic, and the necessary conditions were created for the activities of drawing associations in extracurricular educational institutions. The high level organization of the IV International Drawing Festival "Nakhchivan - Cradle of Humanity" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev is an expression of care for the fine arts in the autonomous republic. The participation of more than 65 artists, including 35 from 12 foreign countries, further enhances the importance of this international event.

Rahman Mammadov, head of the Department for Humanitarian Policy and Public Organizations of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic said that the IV International Drawing Festival "Nakhchivan - Cradle of Humanity" will be important for artists and wished the participants success.

Chairman of the Artists' Union of Azerbaijan, People's Artist Farhad Khalilov emphasized that the autonomous republic had a great way of development over the past years, reconstructing the modern Nakhchivan city and creating all conditions for the artists in the ancient city. Farhad Khalilov expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on behalf of the festival participants, saying that holding the IV International Drawing Festival "Nakhchivan - Cradle of Humanity" was an important cultural event for the autonomous republic.

Minister of Culture of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova said that in the autonomous republic respect for national, moral and religious values ​​and traditions are preserved. As a result, the Nakhchivan city was elected the Capital of Islamic Culture for 2018. Nakhchivan city is also the Youth Capital of our country for 2018. The IV International Drawing Festival "Nakhchivan - Cradle of Humanity" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Nakhchivan is an important cultural event of our ancient land.

Chairwoman of the Artists' Union of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulviyya Hamzayeva said that today in the field of fine art development there are consistent measures in the autonomous republic, young artists are trained, a comprehensive set of conditions for the art of painting is created, the creativity of artists increases. Organizing personal exhibitions of artists, publishing album-catalogs of classical and contemporary artists of Azerbaijan's art of painting make a significant contribution to the increase of creative search of young artists. The created conditions have enhanced creativity of artists, exhibitions of Nakhchivan artists are held in many countries of the world, they have participated in international festivals and competitions.

It was noted that today the ancient Nakhchivan has become a big construction land. Exemplary construction work is a great history for the future. This history should be handed down the next generation not only in specialist researches, but also in the works of creative people. The IV International Drawing Festival "Nakhchivan - Cradle of Humanity" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev is also for this purpose.

In the artistic part of the event there were performances of the Ancient Musical Instruments Ensemble, dance group of Nakhchivan State Philharmonic, members of Ashugs' Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Sharur Folk Yalli Ensemble.

Then the creative part of the festival started. During the event participants were provided with mobile catering services.

Teachers and students of Art Faculty of Nakhchivan State University, Fine Arts specialty of Nakhchivan Teachers Institute, members of the circle of Heydar Aliyev Children and Youth Creativity Center, and students of Children's Music and Art School named after Artoghrul Javid watched the working process of famous artists.

On May 24, the exhibition of works drawn at the festival will be organized at the Exhibition Hall named after Bahruz Kangarli.
