Religious temples

Historically, there were great mosques in their time in all regions of Azerbaijan, and they are preserved to this day. From this point of view, we can name Bibiheybat and Tazapir in Baku, as well as Jame Mosques in Nakhchivan and Ordubad, Imamzade Complexes in the autonomous republic. These monuments in our country contain the religious and spiritual outlook of our people.

Consistent measures are being taken in our autonomous republic to preserve our religious values today. Historic monuments, religious sanctuaries are being restored, new mosques are built. Mosques are places of worship, and places where our spiritual values are kept alive.

One of these places is the Saltag village mosque in the Saltag village of Julfa region. This mosque that is eye-brightening with its historic-architectural structure was built in 1410. The height of its minaret is 12 meters. Its dome has eight windows and these windows lighten the mosque. The images of moon and an octagonal star were engraved on the dome and the minaret.

The board meeting was held at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivaan Autonomous Republic in connection with the implemented work in 2017 and the challenges ahead. The minister of culture and tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova made a speech at the event and mentioned that during reporting period events on the occasion of remarkable and historical days, the jubilees of the outstanding people were kept in the focus of attention, 30 performances were prepared and in general, 241 events, 89 concerts, 25 open lessons, exhibitions were organized.

It was stated that enrichment of museum funds with new exhibits was in the focus in 2017, the museums in the system of the ministry received 1340 new exhibits last year. In 2017, 335 thousand local tourists, 110 thousand 425 foreign tourists, totally 445 thousand 747 visitors visited the museums in the autonomous republic.

The activity of the libraries was in the center of attention, control over the effectiveness of the measures increased. Work carried out in the direction of execution of the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated 28 August, 2017 “Books that are necessary to read”, in the libraries in the system of the ministry relevant book sections were created, book discussions and reader conferences were organized. On the basis of the Decree, 31 book discussions were held. 152 jubilee events were held related to the outstanding people in the libraries.

An open lesson at the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum

On January 5, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzade held an open lesson with Nakhchivan city secondary school N.3. on "The herald of great aims-Jalil Mammadguluzade" dedicated to the memorial day of outstanding writer Jalil Mammadguluzade.

Alamzar Ibrahimova, the director of the museum, opened the lesson and spoke about the life of the great democrat and his role as a national writer, publicist, founder of the "Molla Nasreddin" literary school and the great master of the small stories in Azerbaijani literature.

Samana Rustamova, the chief scientific worker of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzade, spoke on the theme of "The herald of great aims-Jalil Mammadguluzade", his life and varied creativity, and the activity of "Molla Nasreddin" magazine in our press history and said the heritage of this great writer is our national wealth. Jalil Mammadguluzade criticized public injustice, prejudice, colonialism and nationalism, provocation and always wanted to be intellectual and educated of his people. He also laid the foundation for satiric graphics and cartoon art.

Then the exposition in the museum was viewed by the students.

About 14000 people visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum in Nakhchivan last year

The number of visitors to the Heydar Aliyev Museum in Nakhchivan was 13165 last year. 2928 of these are foreigners.

In 2017 excursions to museums were continued by employees of central and local executive authorities, as well as other institutions in autonomous republic. 1733 excursions were organized last year at the Heydar Aliyev Museum.

During this period, 85 open and 4 interactive lessons were organized in the museum with the participation of students of high schools and universities, as well as pupils of secondary schools. The Heydar Aliyev Museum is one of the most visited places in the autonomous republic by the guests come from other regions of our country and foreigners, along with Nakhchivan people. The museum is rich with exhibits reflecting the life and political activity of the prominent statesman. At present, the number of exhibits is 4678. 49 of them were given to the museum in 2017.

Nakhchivan State Children's Theater is making new achievements

Different measures are carried out in the field of revealing the creative potential of talented children and young people, to direct them correctly in the autonomous republic, new facilities are created and put into usage. One of them is Nakhchivan State Children’s Theatre.

The director of the theatrte, the Honored artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tofig Seyidov informed us about the history of Nakhchivan State Children’s Theatre, its activity, the work it does. He said that the theatre was established by the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated October 4, 2006 and it is already more than 10 years that the theatre enriches and develops the outlook of little theatre lovers. During these years the theatre has staged nearly 30 performances and met the audience. In choosing scenes, preference is given to patriotism, statehood, love to the mother. “This world is a tale”, “Goodness is never forgotten”, “Farid’s dream”, “Bravery ordeal”, “Forest story”, “Two brothers”, “Love to the father” and other performances are shown as example. “Speaking doll” by Abdulla Shaig was staged in interlude genre in 2016. The producers of the performance were Tofig Seyidov and Nurbaniz Niftaliyeva. At present, repertoire selection is preferred to educational works.
