Day of International Monuments and Historical Places celebrated

Opening the event, head of the Culture and Tourism Department of Babek Region Jeyhun Farajov said that by the decision of the UNESCO’s International Council on Monuments Protection, since 1982, April 18 is celebrated as the "Day of International Monuments and Historical Places" every year. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to draw people's attention to the preservation of historical monuments and places. The head of the department spoke about national leader Heydar Aliyev's measures and decisions taken in the study of Nakhchivan history and ancient monuments.

Course graduates were awarded certificates

The librarians who have completed their 10 days' professional development course on organizing library work and modern requirements organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Nakhchivan Teachers Institute were awarded certificates at the Nakhchivan Music College on April 18.

Natavan Gadimova, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic said that the Ministry regularly organizes informational events related to the library work. The librarians are provided with scientific and methodological assistance, their professionalism is enhanced.

 Various cultural and mass events in libraries play an important role in involving readers to these cultural centers. However, it should not be limited to what has been achieved, the library work should be set up at the level of modern requirements, and librarians should keep up with the time and prefer to use innovative methods and technologies. Now information technology is one of the key indicators of socio-economic and cultural growth, which reflects the general development and intellectual potential of every nation.

Drawing competition finished

The drawing competition on "Great leader Heydar Aliyev through the eyes of young artists" finished at Nakhchivan State Art Gallery on April 17.

Hokuma Mammadli, the Director of Nakhchivan State Art Gallery, the member of the Union of Artists of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic said that the development of Azerbaijani culture, including its fine arts, is connected with the name of national leader Heydar Aliyev. When the great leader was in power, he paid great attention to painting, Mikayil Abdullayev, Tahir Salahov, Sattar Bahlulzadeh, Boyukagha Gasimzadeh, Maral Rahmanzadeh, Altay Hajiyev, Toghrul Narimanbeyov and other prominent artists were awarded honorary titles and got state awards.

During the period that national leader Heydar Aliyev was in power, it was paid great attention to painting in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Nakhchivan Artists' Union was established in our ancient land. Training of young painters were in the focus of attention. Great attention and care to the fine arts in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic  is the continuation and preservation of  Heydar Aliyev's tradition.

“The cloth peddler” performance was demonstrated

For the effective organization of work of folk theaters operating in cultural institutions, involving talented young generation to the amateur theater collectives, to organize their activities properly, to increase the interest of the population in the theater art,  festivals of folk theaters are organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for several years. Today, 5 folk theaters operate in the autonomous republic, 2 of them have been established in recent years. At the same time, measures are being taken to establish drama circles in regions where there are no folk theaters. The drama circle, established in Julfa at the end of 2017, is one of such collectives. Let's note that the main initiator of the creation of this drama circle is the youth working in the cultural institutions of the region.

On April 17, at Culture House of Julfa region, the drama circle presented its first performance - our great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov’s “The cloth peddler” operetta to the residents. Taking into consideration that the operetta   “The cloth peddler” is the most popular and famous work not only in Azerbaijan, but in the whole world, it is of interest as the courageous step of the collective to present this performance.

Conducting comprehensive statistics in tourism is a requirement of the day

Modern tourism is a socioeconomic phenomenon, where complex intra-field and inter-sectoral integration is present and sharp competition exists, and also a type of business. Numerous economic relations emerged during the development of tourism, as well as managing processes, marketing research, and scientific researches on the implementation of new tourism and recreational projects will increase the importance of collecting and utilizing statistical data.

Let's look at some figures to see how important statistics are in tourism. According to the information of World Tourism Organization (WTO), which operates under the auspices of the United Nations, the largest international tourism management organization, in 2016, 1 billion 235 million tourists worldwide have been registered, which is 46 million more than in 2015. In the same period, tourism revenues amounted to $ 1 trillion 220 billion, or $ 24 billion more than in 2015. In general, the number of tourists worldwide has increased by 24.7 times compared to 1950 (25 million), tourism revenues increased by 610 times compared to that period ($ 2 billion). At present, tourism constitutes 7 percent of total commodities and services across the globe. However, according to the WTO, world tourism will rise by 3.8 percent annually by 2030. As a result, it is expected that 1.4 billion people will travel in 2020 and 1.8 billion in 2030.
