On April 19, concert of “Mugham trio” and “Saz players” ensemble of Nakhchivan Music College was held in Boyahmad village center of Julfa region.
It was stated that the college has achieved success in the field of preserving our national musical instruments and folk songs, as well as studying classic and modern world composers, preparing young music cadres. The graduates of this college serve our music culture while working at cultural institutions, children's music schools in our country. In addition to its activities as an educational institution, it also performs concert programs at popular events and festivals held throughout the country. Over 40 years, various music collectives have been created at the college.
Young talents, as well as promoting our music art, also take active part in competitions. Involving new talents to the collective and focusing on the various repertoires are the key issues. At present, the collectives are preparing a new repertoire for upcoming celebrations. Music collectives of the college actively participate in festivities held in the autonomous republic.
On April 19, the master class was held on the topic “Nakhchivan in the creativity of the prominent artist Shamil Gaziyev” at Sharur City Children’s Art School named after B. Kangarli.
Before the master class, speaking at the event the director of Sharur City Children’s Art School named after B. Kangarli Bahruz Ibrahimov noted that on the basis of the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated February 1, 2018, the 110th anniversary of the outstanding artist Shamil Gaziyev is widely marked in our ancient land. In the action plan approved on the basis of the Decree, it is planned to hold a series of events dedicated to the anniversary of the artist, including holding master classes at children’s art schools on “Nakhchivan in Shamil Gaziyev’s creativity”. Master classes will be held at all art schools of the autonomous republic by the organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The aim is to acquaint the pupils of art schools with the art of the outstanding artist, to introduce his works related to Nakhchivan.
On April 19, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh hosted an event "Traditions of "Molla Nasraddin" Literary School and molla nasraddinism".
Opening the event, director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, Alamzar Ibrahimova said that "Molla Nasraddin" magazine, which was launched 112 years ago, is one of the most brilliant pages of the Azerbaijani press history. The publication of the "Molla Nasraddin" magazine was an important event not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the Middle East, in the entire Islamic world. Every new issue of the magazine was a hot topic of discussions in the international press and public.
An exhibition of handicrafts was held at Nakhchivan Tourism Information Center on April 18.
At the opening of the exhibition organized by the “Nakhchivan Cuisine” Culinary Center, Gulbuta Babayeva, head of the office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic made a speech and noted that a number of events are being held in the autonomous republic on the proclamation of Nakhchivan as the Capital of Islamic Culture. This event is also dedicated to this remarkable event. After the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated February 7, 2009 "On holding Folk days in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic", important measures have been taken in the direction of preserving, propagandizing and handing down our national-moral values the next generations in our ancient land, and these works are consistently continued. Nakhchivan cuisine, which has rich history and great achievements, is an important part of our national culture. Systematic study and development, promotion of culinary culture which is the one of the earliest field of folk creativity, the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Mr. Vasif Talibov signed the Order "On establishing “Nakhchivan Cuisine” Culinary Center on April 9, 2009 and it started to operate under the the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The first quarter of 2018 has come to an end. During this period, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic held the event on historic days, kept the activities of museums under control, and held a drawing competition on "Great leader Heydar Aliyev through the eyes of young artists" at Nakhchivan State Art Gallery. Seminar-trainings for museum guides were held at the "Khan Palace" State Historical-Architectural, Momina Khatun and in the open air Museum Complex, Heydar Aliyev Museum, Nakhchivan State History Museum, Julfa Region History and Ethnography Museum and distant and open lessons continued. Overall, 116,653 visitors, 41,033 of them were foreigners visited museums during the quarter. During this period, 402 new exhibits were added to museums. "Sharur" Folk Dance Ensemble successfully performed at the opening ceremony of the "Kastamonu 2018 – Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" in the Republic of Turkey and the Novruz celebrations organized by TURKSOY.
