Koroghlu Monument is an expression of respect for the heroic history of our people

Azerbaijan has been known for its great personalities, prominent art and science figures, patriotic sons throughout history. This land which contributed heroic sons to the history has been looked danger straight. The heroic sons of our Homeland always struggled against our enemies bravely. The names of these patriotic people are forever immortalized in the legends of our people. Streets, squares have been built named after them, magnificent monuments have been erected. One of these monuments is Koroghlu monument erected in Nakhchivan city reflecting heroism history of our people.

This monument is not only a sign of respect for a hero but the whole history of a nation. The author of the monument built on Aziz Aliyev street in our capital city is People's Artist of Azerbaijan, sculptor Huseyngulu Aliyev. The territory of the monument is called Koroglu square. This monument was erected in 1988, it was given a new design in 2008. In the monument, the folk hero Koroglu was described over Girat holding a sword in one hand and a shield in another hand challenging enemies. As it is located on the road leading to Nakhchivan International Airport the monument attracts the attention of guests coming to the autonomous republic. Here, also the enterprise, which produces "Badamli" mineral water having a healing importance, Gemigaya Mineral Waters Limited Liability Company, as well as the Jahan Mall, where residents go for shopping every day. Thus, hundreds of people who are passing through the monument every day, see the courage of this patriotic folk hero.

Pearls of the Eastern architecture - Nakhchivan tombs

Nakhchivan, one of the oldest inhabited and cultural centers of Azerbaijan is rich in the ancient monuments, caves, dwellings, magnificent castles, rock paintings, stone sculptures and tombs, which reflect the history of our people brightly. In this regard, national leader Heydar Aliyev said: “Nakhchivan is a land of monuments reflecting the history of Azerbaijani people. In this small area, there have been many historical and architectural monuments of world importance. Each of them is a monument to the history of Azerbaijan people, its culture and traditions”.

Today, those monuments are surrounded by the attention and care of our state, over the past 21 years about 70 historical and cultural monuments have been reconstructed and repaired in the autonomous republic, Over 1200 monuments were registered and certificated. Among these monuments, tombs, the pearls of the Nakhchivan architectural school have a special place. Work is continuing to promote these tombstones internationally. The fact that Nakhchivan is the capital of Islamic culture for 2018 also opens up opportunities for it. Collection of documents for inclusion of Nakhchivan tombs into the Islamic Cultural Heritage List has already been submitted to ISESCO.

The product of high artistic thinking, the monument of unique beauty and elegance – Momuna khatun tomb

One of the unique monuments of Azerbaijani architecture is Momuna khatun tomb. This monument was built in 1186 by the outstanding architect Ajami Abubakr oghlu Nakhchivani. Momuna khatun is one of the diplomat women in Azerbaijan. She was the bulwark of her husband and children in the foreign and domestic policies of the Atabeyler state. According to this loyalty, her husband Shamsaddin Eldaniz decided to build a magnificent mausoleum on her grave. In 1175 the mausoleum was laid. After the death of Shamsaddin Eldaniz Atabey, the construction of the mausoleum was completed by their son Mohammed Jahan Pahlavan.

PhD in History, Musa Guliyev, in his article "On the investigations carried out on Momuna khatun tomb" writes that this monument is the product of elegance and high artistic thinking. That is why it can keep the watchers in its attraction. Because, the tomb has the unity of artistry and mathematical thinking. Geometric ornaments on the monument were engraved with great skill. You can not keep yourself not to admire the accuracy of the architectural division of the lines separating the outer surfaces. Architect Ajami, who built the tomb, adapted the Kufic line inscriptions to complex patterns reminiscent of geometrical systems. All this can make the general composition of the monument attractive to the audience. One of these kufic inscriptions leads us to the twentieth century: “We pass away, but only the wind is left behind us. We die, but only a work is left as a present”.

An exhibition of pupils' handicrafts studying painting

On December 22, the exhibition of the students studying drawing specialty at the children’s music, art and artistic craftsmanship schools in the autonomous republic was organized at Nakhchivan State Art Gallery. The minister of culture and tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova made a speech and mentioned that in accordance with the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated January 31, 2012, "On raising public care for young talents in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic", the creation of the “Golden Book” of young talents, the names of eight talented children in this book and giving them special scholarships is another expression of concern for talented children.

The minister noted that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism includes 26 children’s music, art and artistic craftsmanship schools. At Nakhchivan City Children’s Music and Art school, Children’s Music and Artistic Craftsmanship school named after Artoghrul Javid, Sharur City Children’s art school named after Bahruz Kangarli drawing specialty is taught.

Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the reorganization of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Duzdagh Physiotherapy Center.

Following the Paragraph 22, Part II, Article 5 of the Constitution of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, I decree:

1. Duzdagh Physiotherapy Center of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic the Ministry of Health is granted the status of public legal entity.
2. The Cabinet of Ministries of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic:

2.1. To approve the regulations of the public legal entity provided in part I of this Order;

2.2. Taking into consideration the proposals of the Ministry of Health of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the property and equipments used by Duzdagh Physiotherapy Center were ensured to transfer to the balance of the public legal entity provided in Part I of this Order.

1. The Ministry of Taxes of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic takes the necessary measures for the state registration of the public legal entity provided in Part I of this Decree.

2. This Decree comes into force from the day of its signing.

Drawing competition among the students of Kangarli district secondary schools

On December 21, with regard to the effective organization of mutual educational and cultural and tourism enterprises approved jointly by the ministries of Culture and Tourism and Education of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, on the purpose of implementation of the Action Plan for the 2017-2018 academic year and the discovery of young talents among schools, the drawing contest named "Great leader Heydar Aliyev through the eyes of young artists" was organized by the Nakhchivan State Art Gallery and Kangarli District Education Department among the pupils of the Kangarli District Secondary Schools.

On this occasion, at the event held at Kangarli District Chess School, the director of Nakhchivan State Art Gallery Hokuma Mammadli spoke about national leader Heydar Aliyev's services in the development of Azerbaijani culture and fine arts. It was noted that the great son of our nation Heydar Aliyev always paid special attention to the development of our national culture in all spheres, as well as art of painting, appreciated the work of culture figures.
