The members of Organizing Committee established due to the declaration of Nakhchivan city as the Capital of Islamic Culture for 2018 visited Garabaghlar Tomb Complex on June 7.
The guests were informed that the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic signed a Decree “On restoration and research of Garabaghlar Tomb Complex” on July 4, 2016. On the basis of the Decree the restoration of Garabaghlar Tomb Complex in Garabaghlar village of Kangarli region, one of the unique samples of Turkic-Islamic culture, was carried out. The restoration of the world importance monument which is the continuation of Ajami Nakhchivani’s architectural school, an example of architect Ahmad Nakhchivani’s creativity, was carried out on scientific bases.

Looking through the course of development of modern tourism, the use of resources for focusing of the tourists on long-term travel and the organization of tours on this basis draws attention. In this regard, creating tourism potential by using these sources in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, distinguished by its diversified tourism resources, is one of the priorities. Given modern tourists mostly choose tourist-recreational destinations, we can talk more about the opportunities of Nakhchivan's treatment tourism.
Protection of health is one of the main concerns of each person. The use of natural resources has yet to be widespread in ancient times. At present, health tourism is rapidly developing in the world and has reached almost 14% of all tourism turnover. That is because of the importance of treatment tourism and the humanitarian functions it performs. Establishment of sanatorium and resort facilities as important places for treatment tourism services is also important in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of various diseases based on the use of natural resources. It should be noted that this is also an economic field that offers facilities for the use of natural recreational resources and provides conditions for employment.
Our native land is rich in Turkic-Islamic samples, historical-religious monuments preserving Islamic values. Garabaghlar village, the ancient settlement of Kangarli region, is one of our well-known settlements witnessing centuries old monuments. The ancients buildings here which belong to II-I millenniums B.C and have been preserved till today are the stone inscriptions preserving traces of our history. One of these buildings is Asni sacred place, situated in the southern slopes of Palang gayasi mountain in Garabaghlar village, turned into a sacred sanctuary for centuries.
While talking one of intellectual elder people of the village Nahas Safarov noted that thanks to the care and attention of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, important work has been carried out in the direction of protection and study, hand our material-spiritual heritage down the next generations. Asni sacred place has been restored together with other architectural monuments belonging to medieval ages in Garabaghlar village. Before there was a square shaped building built of mortar near the sacred place. At present a monumental architectural monument has been built instead of that building. The corner walls of the building built of high projections were decorated with national ornaments. Here, the cultural and living conditions for the pilgrims have been created, large renovation works have been carried out in the yard, greenery has been laid and the seats have been installed. The flow of spring from the cliffs near the sacred place has become a place of people's belief and has been sanctified.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Azerbaijan Sanjay Rana visited the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan on May 31. The diplomat got acquainted with the educational, cultural, historical monuments and sightseeing places of the autonomous republic during his visit lasted until June 3.
"Alinjagala" historical monument and museum restored according to the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated February 11, 2014 were of great interest to the ambassador. The guest was informed that Alinjagala has more than two thousand years history. The castle was one of the main residents of the local rulers of the I-VI centuries and was formed as a fortress-city. It resisted the troops of Amir Teymur for 14 years. The walls, towers and entrance gates, ancient settlements, farm buildings, water basins and tandirs (oven made of clay in a hole in the earth), trenches and protection sites were restored without changing the previous form. The castle walls and towers have an ancient traces of Nakhchivan architectural school.
