8 new passenger wagons presented to railway business of autonomous republic

Consistent measures are being taken in the autonomous republic to establish railway transport at the level of contemporary requirements and exemplary service for passengers.

On April 2, 8 new passenger wagons were presented to the railway business of autonomous republic.

Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov and Chairman of the "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC Javid Gurbanov viewed the new passenger wagons.

It was noted that each of the wagons imported by "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC has 60 seats. Heating and cooling systems were installed, passengers were provided with free internet access via the "Nakhtel 4G" mobile operator, as well as television. There are 2 control cameras in each wagon.

Ordubad railway station launched after major overhaul

On April 2, Ordubad railway station of “Nakhchivan Railways” Limited Liability Company launched after major overhaul.

The Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov and chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC Javid Gurbanov attended the opening ceremony of the railway.

Director of “Nakhchivan Railways” Limited Liability Company Mahir Aliyev made a speech and mentioned that construction work in the autonomous republic has covered railway system, passenger stations, administrative and technical buildings, modern railway infrastructure, comprehensive work and service conditions have been created. The constant upgrading of the infrastructure and raising the level of service has increased the number of users of rail transport. As part of the ongoing construction work in the railway economy, the new office buildings for Ordubad Passenger Station and Road Area, as well as a new building for road workers have been built, station Management Center, freight warehouse and substation building have been substantially overhauled. Mahir Aliyev thanked the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis on behalf of all railwaymen of the autonomous republic for his care.

Victims of the "March 31st of Azerbaijanis' Genocide Day" were commemorated in Julfa region

On March 30, an event dedicated to the "March 31 - the Day of the Genocide of Azerbaijanis" was held in front of “Genocide” monument in Yaycı village of Julfa region.

Speaking at the event, the head of Julfa Region Culture and Tourism Department Parvin Hasanov noted that 100 years have passed since the March genocide committed by the Armenians against the Azerbaijani people. Armenians living with the dream of "Great Armenia" carried out ethnic cleansing in the areas where Azerbaijanis lived, killed ten thousands of people, ruined villages and cities. The atrocities committed by the Armenians against the Azerbaijani people do not fit within the framework of humanity.

An open lesson at the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum

Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Literature Museum named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh held an open lesson together with Nakhchivan city secondary school №2 on "March 31 the genocide of Azerbaijanis in Azerbaijani literature" on March 30, 2018.

Opening the lesson, director of the museum Alamzar Ibrahimova said that the March genocide committed between March 30 and April 3, 1918, in Baku and different regions of the Baku province, as well as Shamakhi, Guba, Khachmaz, Lankaran, Hajigabul, Salyan, Zangazur, Karabakh, Nakhchivan and other territories of Azerbaijan by Armenian armed forces of the Dashnaktsutun and Baku Soviet against the Azerbaijanis. According to official sources, as the result of genocide, about 12,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and tens of thousands were lost.

Samana Rustamova, chief scientific worker of the museum, gave a speech on "March 31 the genocide of Azerbaijanis in Azerbaijani literature" and noted that March 31 was commemorated by the Azerbaijan People's Republic as a mourning day for two times - in 1919 and 1920. It was the first attempt in the history to give a political assessment to genocide against the people of Azerbaijan and to the aggressive process which continued for over a century. But the collapse of the Azerbaijan People's Republic did not allow finishing this process.

A new performance of the Folk Theater was presented to Babak region's audience

On March 29, the Nakhchivan City "Ganjlik" Folk Theater demonstrated the performance of ossetic playwright Georgy Khugayev on the three-act comedy "My wife's husband" in Babak region Culture House.

Before the performance, it was stated Nakhchivan City "Ganjlik" Folk Theater was established in 1973 as a drama association in Nakhchivan city culture house No.1. In 1978, the collective got a folk theater status.

On the stage of the theater many interesting plays have been played. "Aesopian", "Unlucky young man", "Mother", "The sign of love", "Durna", "The tracks on the roads", "The dead", "Kamancha", "For glory", "Gasham's dream" successfully performed by the collective. A number of actors and actresses, who once worked on the scene of this folk theater, are making contributions to our theater art today, having awarded honorary titles of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Then a new performance of folk theater was presented to the town people. Ossetic playwright Georgy Khugayev's "My wife's husband" comedy has been playing in several theaters of our country, including Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theater named after J.Mammadguluzadeh in different years.

The events in the comedy are taking place at the end of the last century. This household-themed play is rich in laugh and humour. Its simple and compact plot, various unexpected laughing situations make the performance cheerful, playful and funny.
